Verín abre o prazo de cobranza voluntaria do padrón fiscal 2026

The Verín City Council has opened the voluntary payment period for the tax register corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year, which includes the tax on urban and rural real estate, the economic activities tax, and various municipal fees. The Local Government Board approved the register on October 5, 2026, and the announcement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense on October 7, 2026 (reference R. 2.375). Taxpayers may pay between October 15 and December 15, 2026.

The edict, signed by Mayor Gerardo Seoane Fidalgo, is considered a collective notification of settlements and a collection announcement. Its publication is carried out in compliance with Article 102.3 of Law 58/2003, of December 17, General Tax Law, and Article 24 of the General Collection Regulations, approved by Royal Decree 939/2005, of July 29. Once the register was approved, the document and the settlements comprising it were displayed to the public at the City Council Treasury for a period of 20 days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the provincial gazette.

Taxes and fees included in the register

The 2026 tax register covers the following concepts:

  • Tax on urban real estate.
  • Tax on rural real estate.
  • Economic activities tax.
  • Fees for shop windows, awnings, signs, loading and unloading, and vehicle entry.

All of these share a single voluntary payment period, set from October 15 to December 15, 2026.

Office, hours, and payment methods

Voluntary payment is carried out at the Municipal Collection Service Office, located at rúa do Castro, no. 4 – ground floor, 32600 Verín, with hours from 9:00 to 14:00. Taxpayers who receive the payment notice may pay it by presenting that notice at the collection office or by setting up a direct debit with one of the entities collaborating in the collection management.

Appeals and executive period

An administrative appeal for reversal may be filed against the act of approving the register before the Mayor’s Office within one month, counted from the day following the end of the public exhibition period. Alternatively, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court based in Ourense, in accordance with Article 14.2.c) of the recast text of the Law regulating local treasuries, approved by Legislative Royal Decree 2/2004, of March 5.

Once the voluntary payment period has elapsed without the debt being satisfied, the executive period will begin in accordance with Articles 26, 28, and 161 of Law 58/2003, of December 17, General Tax Law. This will determine the requirement of late payment interest, as well as the corresponding surcharges and, where applicable, the costs of the enforcement procedure.

The census affects all owners of urban and rural properties, holders of economic activities, and those responsible for the listed municipal fees, as the fixed deadline sets the payment calendar for the municipality’s local taxes for the remainder of the year. Those who have set up direct debit payments must verify that their bank details remain valid before October 15 to avoid surcharges.
