Por FactBox Admin

The Víznar City Council has definitively approved the modification of the tax for the collection, transport, and treatment of urban solid waste, which sets an annual fee of 146.14 euros per dwelling and 274.01 euros per commercial premises. The agreement, initially adopted by the Plenary on June 10, 2026, and made definitive as no objections were received, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Granada no. 181, dated September 18, 2026 (CVE BOP-GRA-2026-181030).
The Plenary of the Víznar City Council, in its session on June 10, 2026, provisionally approved the modification of Article 6 of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the Tax for the Provision of the Urban Solid Waste Collection, Transport, and Treatment Service. The agreement was submitted for public consultation via an announcement on the notice board and in the Official Gazette of the Province of Granada no. 116, dated June 19, 2026 (announcement no. 2026032862), for a period of thirty business days.
After the period elapsed without objections or claims, as certified by the municipal Secretary-Interventor on August 3, 2026, the provisional agreement was automatically elevated to definitive status in accordance with Article 17.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. The full text is now published in compliance with Article 17.4 of the same legal text.
The new annual fees
The tax quota consists of a fixed amount per unit of premises, determined based on the nature and purpose of the properties, the category of the public road where they are located, and the characteristics of the waste produced. The approved rate is as follows:
- Dwellings and other private properties on urban land: €146.14/year per dwelling or property.
- Collective accommodations with more than 10 places: €10.05/year per place.
- Food establishments, catering, entertainment, professional offices, workshops, and commercial, industrial, or mercantile premises: €274.01/year per premises.
Reduced rate on rural land
Dwellings and constructions on rural land whose primary use is not agricultural, according to the data from the Cadastre electronic office, are subject to reduced rates based on the distance in linear meters from the plot line to the nearest deposit and collection point:
- Up to 500 linear meters: €149.19/year.
- From 501 to 1,000 linear meters: €118.74/year.
- From 1,001 to 1,500 linear meters: €82.20/year.
- From 1,500 linear meters onwards: €45.67/year.
When a single property has two or more different uses (residential, tourist, etc.), a rate will be applied for each use. The quotas may be split into bimonthly periods.
Entry into force and appeals process
The amendment enters into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Granada, but the new fees will only be enforceable from the effective implementation of the restructuring of the collection service, determined by the signing of the minutes provided for in the agreement of the General Assembly of the Consortium for the Development of the Vega Sierra Elvira of May 29, 2025. Until that date, the previously current fees will continue to apply, and the Mayoral resolution declaring the implementation will be notified to the interested parties and published on the municipal electronic office.
An administrative appeal may be filed against the final agreement before the High Court of Justice of Andalusia, Administrative Litigation Chamber, within two months from the day following the publication of the announcement, in accordance with articles 10.1.b) and 46.1 of Law 29/1998, of July 13.
The announcement, signed by the Mayor-President David Espigares Carrillo on August 3, 2026, affects all receipts in the municipality and comes after a procedure without neighborhood objections. The increase raises the cost of residential receipts and particularly burdens commercial premises, while properties scattered on rural land are relieved with decreasing rates according to their distance from the collection point.
