Three municipalities in Jaén publish local public employment processes

The Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 159, published on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, includes three resolutions from town councils in the province relating to selection processes for the provision of civil servant and labor personnel posts. The actions, framed within the Local Administration section, affect the municipalities of La Iruela, Alcaudete and Torreperogil and range from the announcement of a new competitive examination to the proposal for appointment of candidates who have already passed the tests.

The three publications fall within the exercise of the powers of the town councils in matters of personnel selection for the service of the Local Administration, in accordance with the Consolidated Text of the Law on the Basic Statute of Public Employees, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, and Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Government System.

La Iruela announces a Clerical Officer post by free competitive examination

The Acting Mayor-President of the Hon. La Iruela Town Council, María Elisa Martínez Gil, has made public, through Mayoral Resolution No. 65/2026, dated July 31, 2026, the agreement to announce the selection tests for the provision of a career civil servant post.

This is a post in Group C, Subgroup 1, General Administration Scale, Administrative Subscale, with the category of Clerical Officer, which will be filled by the competitive examination system in the free turn. The post is included in the 2025 Public Employment Offer, published in BOP of Jaén No. 223, of November 20, 2025, and the rules of the process were negotiated at the General Negotiating Table on July 29, 2026.

Interested applicants may consult the full rules on the Town Council’s electronic office. Against the resolution and the rules, which exhaust the administrative route, an optional appeal for reconsideration may be lodged with the Mayor’s Office within one month, or an administrative contentious appeal before the Administrative Contentious Court of Jaén within two months.

Alcaudete formalizes the hiring of the Occupational Center Monitor

The Alcaudete Town Council has published Mayoral Resolution number 2026-0668, of August 13, 2026, by which the hiring as temporary labor personnel of the candidate proposed in the selection process for covering a Occupational Center Monitor post is agreed.

The post, classified in Group C1-19, has been selected through the competitive examination-merit system. After the conclusion of the process, the Mayor Yolanda Caballero Aceituno has proposed the hiring of Javier Villén Funes. The resolution is published for general information, in accordance with the provisions of the Consolidated Text of the Law on the Basic Statute of Public Employees.

Torreperogil approves the list of successful candidates for General Administration Technician

The Mayor-President of Torreperogil City Council, José Ruiz Villar, has approved, by means of Resolution dated 31 July 2026, the publication of the final list of successful candidates in the selection process to fill one position of General Administration Technician, in Group A1, through the open competition system.

The only candidate who has passed the two exercises provided for in the bases is Ana Vico Reyes, with a score of 23.55 points in the first exercise and 37.90 points in the second, for a total grade of 61.45 points. Her appointment is proposed, subject to her proving the documents of capacity and requirements demanded in the call within twenty working days from the publication of the announcement.

The provisional appointment was signed by Juan Francisco Torres Guerrero, Substitute Mayor by virtue of the Mayoralty Resolution of 28 July 2026. The resolution may be appealed through a optional reconsideration appeal or a contentious-administrative appeal within the legally established time limits.

Impact for public employment applicants in the province

These three publications represent new opportunities for access to public employment in municipalities in the province of Jaén. The La Iruela call opens a new selection process that will be added to the positions already announced in the 2025 Public Employment Offer, while the resolutions of Alcaudete and Torreperogil move forward towards the effective coverage of positions that were vacant, helping to strengthen municipal public services in both municipalities.
