Grants to prevent religious intolerance called for by the Pluralismo Foundation

The Pluralism and Coexistence Foundation F.S.P. has announced the grants for the year 2026 intended for the implementation of activities to strengthen coexistence and prevent intolerance and discrimination on religious grounds. The extract of the resolution, signed on September 1, 2026, by its president, Mr. Félix Bolaños García, is published in the Official State Gazette (Boletín Oficial del Estado) number 223, dated September 9, 2026, in section V-B, page 47473, with reference BOE-B-2026-29248.

The call is framed within the regulatory bases approved by Order PJC/834/2025, of July 29, published in the BOE number 185, of August 2, 2025, pages 104537 to 104552. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis, and the full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database (BDNS), with identifier 928103.

Beneficiary Entities and Purpose

Beneficiaries may include associations, foundations, and other private non-profit entities established under Organic Law 1/2002, of March 22, and Law 50/2002, of December 26, as well as the religious entities listed in Article 8 of the Foundation’s statutes. Entities must have their headquarters in Spain and be legally constituted and registered in the corresponding registry.

For-profit corporate entities, public law entities, political parties, professional associations, and other entities of a similar nature are excluded. Entities that received funding in the immediately preceding call may not be beneficiaries.

The purpose of the grants is to make the diversity of beliefs and convictions visible, promote attitudes that value the fundamental right to religious freedom, and contribute to preventing prejudice, intolerance, and discrimination on religious grounds, with special attention to minority faiths.

Eligible Activities

The grants will fund three lines of action:

• Recovery of memory and heritage: creation, maintenance, and digitalization of historical archives, recovery of oral memory, exhibitions, routes or signage of historical sites, and production of dissemination materials for minority faiths.
• Inter-convictional encounter and dialogue: coexistence and exchange activities, debates, visit programs to places of worship, and artistic activities that reflect the diversity of beliefs.
• Defense of religious freedom: conferences, workshops, training actions, exhibitions, campaigns, and materials in digital, audiovisual, or ludic formats that combat discrimination, intolerance, and hate speech on religious grounds.

Amount, Deadline, and Submission

The available credit amounts to 130,000 euros, charged to the Foundation’s expenditure budget for 2026. The maximum amount per project is 10,000 euros, which must represent a maximum of 75% of its total cost, with the beneficiary entity responsible for covering the remainder with its own funds or other grants.

Applications shall be submitted electronically through the electronic office of the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts (www.mpr.sede.gob.es), by accessing the 2026 Call. Each entity may only submit a single project, and the deadline will be one month from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOE. The resolution will enter into force on the next business day following said publication.
