Sernapesca removes fish farms from the National Aquaculture Registry

The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca) instructed a procedure for the removal of the registration of the fish farms indicated from the National Aquaculture Registry, through exempt resolution No. DN-02502/2026, dated August 17, 2026. The measure was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chile No. 44,549, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Section II of Particular Regulations.

The decision was adopted in accordance with Article 90 ter of the General Law on Fisheries and Aquaculture, which empowers the service to purge the registry when aquaculture operators fail to comply with the requirements necessary to maintain their registration.

Scope of the measure

The resolution, issued by the National Directorate of the service based in Valparaíso, orders the removal of the registrations of the fish farms identified in the administrative act. The full text of the resolution is available on the electronic domain sites of Sernapesca and the Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

Regulatory framework

The action is framed within the inspection and control powers that the General Law on Fisheries and Aquaculture grants to the agency, aimed at ensuring that aquaculture activity is developed in accordance with current regulations. The removal from the registry implies that the affected operators lose the authorization to carry out fish farming activities under the previously authorized conditions.

Signature and publication

The administrative act was signed by the National Director of the service, María Soledad Tapia Almonacid, and its extract was published in the official bulletin with the code CVE 2868781. The document was electronically signed in accordance with Law No. 19,799, with time-stamping and an advanced electronic signature.

The publication in the Official Gazette provides publicity and legal certainty to the measure, allowing affected operators to know the status of their registrations and exercise the appeals they deem appropriate within the legal timeframes.
