The Local Government Board of Santa Cristina d’Aro agreed on 5 August 2026 to approve the call and the regulatory bases for the selection process to fill, by means of free competitive examination, two positions of local police officer. The process is governed by Decree 214/1990, of 20 July, which approves the Regulations for staff serving local entities, and by Law 16/1991, of 10 July, on local police forces of Catalonia. The two positions called are classified within the special administration scale, special services sub-scale, local police class, subgroup C1.

Selection tests of the process
The competitive examination consists of five compulsory and eliminatory exercises, held in the following order:
- Cultural and theoretical test — Two multiple-choice questionnaires of 50 questions each (90 minutes): one on general culture and current affairs, and another on the specific syllabus annexed to the bases. The maximum score is 20 points, with a minimum of 10 required to pass.
- Physical aptitude test — Exercises of medicine ball throw, leg power jump and shuttle run (course navette). Score from 0 to 5 points, with a minimum of 2.5 to be deemed fit.
- Catalan language knowledge test (level B2) — Pass or fail. Persons holding a recognised B2 certificate are exempt.
- Psychotechnical test — Aptitude sub-test (intellectual abilities and reasoning) and personality sub-test. Pass or fail in both.
- Competency test and competency-based interview — A 45-minute questionnaire and a 50-minute competency interview, scored up to 10 points.
After the first three exercises, the competition phase is held, where applicants’ merits will be assessed up to a maximum of 6 points (professional police experience, supplementary training, ACTIC certificate, and awards). The 50 best-ranked applicants move on to the physical aptitude test, and the first 25 after the competition phase proceed to the psychotechnical test.
Training course and internships
Once the selection process has been passed, those appointed as trainee officers must complete the Basic Training Course for Police Officers taught by the Police School of Catalonia of the Institute of Public Safety of Catalonia (ISPC). During the course, they will receive remuneration corresponding to the salary of group C1.
After the selection course, a twelve-month internship period begins, serving as a local police officer in the municipality, with a minimum effective presence of 1,400 hours. The panel will assess at least two independent evaluation proposal reports submitted by officers of the Santa Cristina d’Aro Local Police.
Job pool and economic conditions
Applicants who pass without a position will join a job pool valid for two years, in strict order of score, to cover vacancies and temporary needs in the same category. The appointment offer will preferably be made by email, with a 24-hour deadline to respond.
The position has the following characteristics:
- Specific allowance: 959.39 euros per month, including the weekend allowance.
- Working hours: 35 hours per week on an annual basis.
- Post level: 16.
- Legal regime: Career civil servant.
Applications must be submitted to the general electronic registry of the Santa Cristina d’Aro Town Council through the electronic office (http://santacristina.cat). The deadline begins the day after publication in the BOP and ends twenty business days from the day after publication in the Official Gazette of the Government of Catalonia (DOGC). Subsequent procedural acts will be published on the Town Council’s e-Notice Board.
This call represents the updating of the staff of the Santa Cristina d’Aro Local Police, a municipality in Baix Empordà with a population requiring a stable and professional police service. The positions offered are part of the 2026 Public Employment Offer and respond to the need to reinforce the local security force.
