Sant Pere de Ribes approves rental aid up to 800 euros

The Local Government Board of the Sant Pere de Ribes City Council approved in an extraordinary session on 4 August 2026 the regulatory bases of the municipal grants for access to and permanence of rental housing for the year 2026. The call, processed under the competitive concurrence regime, sets a maximum monthly rent of 800 euros and an income cap of 2.35 times the IRSC. The extract of the agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona of 13 August 2026, with verification code CVE 202610133402.

The framework of the call

The publication is made in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of 17 November, General Law on Subsidies. The full text of the bases can be consulted at the National Database of Subsidies (identifier 924263), and the declared objective is twofold: to facilitate access to and permanence in an affordable home and to prevent the loss of the habitual residence and residential exclusion.

The announcement, signed by the mayoress, Ana Hererra, on 5 August 2026, addresses the grants to all persons with a lease agreement as their habitual residence located in the municipality of Sant Pere de Ribes.

Requirements and income limits

Eligible beneficiaries are natural persons of legal age, of Spanish nationality or of a member state of the European Union (or with legal residence permit, if they are non-Community foreigners) who do not have any other housing owned or rented. The contract must be for use as a dwelling, or room, habitual and permanent — accredited by the municipal registration — and the monthly rent cannot exceed 800 euros.

The income limits for the cohabitation unit, set at 2.35 times the IRSC, are:

1 member: 30,149.49 euros
2 members: 31,081.97 euros
3 members: 32,418.82 euros
4 members or more: 33,499.52 euros

In addition, one must be up to date with tax obligations and with the Social Security and not fall under any of the prohibition cases of article 13 of Law 38/2003.

Two grant lines

Line 1, entry grants: the equivalent of two justifiable monthly rent payments, with a maximum of 1,600 euros, to facilitate the signing of the new contract; expenses associated with access are included (utility registrations, changes, certificates), with the same total limit.
Line 2, monthly payment grants: 30% of the rent amount, with a maximum of 240 euros per month, corresponding to the months of January to October 2026, both inclusive.

To calculate the amount, the receipt from the month prior to the application is taken as a reference, and only the rent and expenses directly and unequivocally linked to the dwelling are counted.

Deadline and submission of applications

Ordinary applications may be submitted within one month from the publication of the terms in the BOPB. Extraordinary applications are also provided for if, once the ordinary ones have been resolved, there is budget availability, with a maximum deadline ending on 30 September 2026. The submission channels are:

In person at the Citizen Attention Offices, with prior appointment at citaprevia.santperederibes.cat.
Through the municipal Electronic Office of Sant Pere de Ribes.
At any of the places provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the common administrative procedure.

With this call, Sant Pere de Ribes activates one of the key instruments to ease the pressure on the rental market in a context of rising prices. The combination of a down-payment grant and a monthly contribution of up to 240 euros for ten months can be decisive in enabling many households to access housing or keep it.
