Sanidad nombra 16 cardiólogos para plazas de difícil cobertura

The Department of Health has agreed to the appointment as permanent statutory personnel of 16 specialist physicians in Cardiology in positions declared as difficult to fill within the Valencian Health System. The decision is formalized in the Resolution of September 24, 2026, from the General Directorate of Personnel, published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) no. 10462, of September 30, 2026, with reference DOGV-C-2026-30596. The period for taking office is one month and begins on October 15, 2026.

The resolution is issued under base 15 of the call for the merit competition for the provision of statutory personnel positions with a specialist degree in Health Sciences declared as difficult to fill, published in DOGV no. 10251, of December 1, 2025. Previously, the General Directorate of Personnel published the provisional allocation of positions on July 14, 2026, after which a period was opened to present allegations or waivers prior to the publication of the appointment.

The authority to resolve corresponds to the General Directorate of Personnel in accordance with article 18 of Decree 22/2025, of February 11, of the Consell, which approves the Organic and Functional Regulations of the Department of Health. The resolution bears the signature of María Amparo Pinazo Gamir, Director General of Personnel.

Sixteen appointments in six hospitals

Annex I details the 16 appointments with definitive destinations, all for flexible shifts, distributed among six hospital centers in the provinces of Alicante, Castellón, and Valencia:

  • Torrevieja University Hospital (Torrevieja Health Department): five positions, for Luna Carrillo Aleman, Jessika Ariadnna Gonzalez D’Gregorio, Rafael Antonio Leon Allocca, Gregorio De Lara Delgado, and Ernesto Raul Centurion Inda.
  • Vega Baja Hospital of Orihuela (Orihuela Health Department): four positions, for Juan Jose Martinez Diaz, Andrea Romero Valero, Maria Asuncion Esteve Pastor, and Diego Cazorla Morallon.
  • Vinaròs Regional Hospital (Vinaròs Health Department): three positions, for Gina Natalia Chacon Hernandez, Pablo Jover Pastor, and Davinia Chofre Moreno.
  • Denia Hospital (Denia Health Department): two positions, for Emilio Galcera Jornet and Julia Seller Moya.
  • Elda General University Hospital - Virgen de la Salud (Elda Health Department): one position, for Maria Laura Niosi.
  • Requena General Hospital (Requena Health Department): one position, for Francisco Arregui Montoya.

The assignment of the destination shall be definitive. In centers where several vacancies were offered, these will be filled as the appointed persons join, respecting the order established by the cessation criteria of the fourth additional provision of Decree 192/2017, of December 1, of the Consell.

One month to take office from October 15

The period for taking office shall be one month and will begin on October 15, 2026. Anyone who, after the lapse of said period, has not joined the assigned center will lose the rights derived from their participation in the selection process, following a hearing and by means of a reasoned resolution, except in cases of force majeure or impossibility assessed by the competent body in personnel matters, which will suspend the period until the cause ceases to exist.

Once they have acquired the status of permanent statutory personnel, the appointees may participate in the transfer competitions of their category or specialty, as well as in the internal promotion systems or the provision of positions of another category, when they prove three years of permanence in active service at the assigned center; periods of leave interrupt this count. Service commissions in their favor will also not be processed until at least three years of active service have elapsed since taking office.

At the time of joining, they must prove with original documentation the requirements used to pass the selection process, including the negative certification from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders required by article 57, paragraph 1, of Organic Law 8/2021, of June 4.

Twenty-two exclusions, three of them due to resignation

Annex II lists 22 people excluded from the selection process. Three resigned: Manuela Romero Vazquianez (position 4), Daniela Maria Dubois Marques (reserve 10) and Patricia Arenas Martin (reserve 19). The remaining 19 did not obtain any position among those effectively requested, including Diego Andres Zambrano Yela, Fernando Enrique Yepez Naranjo and Guillermo Torroba Balmori.

The resolution ends the administrative route. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed against it within one month from the day following its publication or, directly, a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.

The incorporation of these 16 specialists reinforces the Cardiology staff in health departments of Alicante, Castellón, and Valencia where the specialty had been declared difficult to cover, with direct effects on hospital care for patients. The definitive assignment of destination and the one-month period set for taking office mark the calendar of incorporations starting from October 15, 2026.
