San Fernando repeals sewage and dance school fees
Por FactBox Admin

The San Fernando City Council has provisionally approved the repeal of the tax for the provision of sewerage, wastewater treatment and purification services and the special surveillance of private sewers, as well as the tax for services at the Dance School. The agreement was adopted by the municipal Plenary in an extraordinary session on October 2, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz, number 200, dated October 16, 2026, under reference No. 335,681. The approval is provisional and opens a period for allegations for all interested parties.
The announcement is issued in compliance with Article 17, paragraphs 1 and 2, of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, and Article 49 b) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime. The publication is signed by the mayor, Patricia Cabada Montañés, and the head of the Tax Management Service, María Dolores Junquera Cereceda.
Repeal of two tax ordinances
The Plenary’s agreement eliminates two tax figures currently in effect in the municipality:
- Tax Ordinance No. 6: repeals the ordinance regulating the tax for the provision of sewerage, wastewater treatment and purification services and the special surveillance of private sewers.
- Tax Ordinance No. 17: repeals the ordinance regulating the tax for services at the Dance School.
Both repeals directly affect the bills paid by residents for these services and the funding of the municipal school’s activities.
New public non-tax payment for the sewerage service
Along with the repeals, the Plenary provisionally approved the modification of the ordinance regulating the public non-tax payment (ORPPCPNT) for sewerage distribution, wastewater treatment and purification services. The change replaces the strictly tax-based route with a public non-tax payment to sustain the same service.
In this way, the removal of the tax does not leave the cost of the wastewater cycle uncovered, but rather transfers it to a different public law figure, the regulation of which is also subject to public information.
Thirty days to file claims
The file will be available for public inspection for thirty days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz. Interested parties may examine it at the offices of the Tax Management Service, located at Plaza del Rey s/n, 2nd floor, City Hall building, and submit any claims they deem appropriate there.
The provisionally approved modifications are also displayed on the City Council’s Notice Board. In the event that no claims are filed during the public exhibition period, the agreements will be considered definitively approved.
The decision affects the sewerage and purification bill for all homes and premises in the municipality and the operation of the Dance School, therefore residents have thirty days to consult the file and file objections before the repeals and the new patrimonial benefit become final.
