The Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) of the Valparaíso Region notified, through publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chile, two resolutions imposing fines on two companies for violations of agricultural regulations. The sanctions, published on Monday, August 17, 2026, in issue No. 44,526 of the official bulletin, affect Comercializadora y Servicios RYS SpA, for irregularities in the categorization and labeling of meat, and Matetic Wine Group S.A., for non-compliance in the issuance of wine grape reception guides.
Exempt resolution No. 3,095, dated November 14, 2025, resolves case Rol No. 25055529 against Comercializadora y Servicios RYS SpA, a company domiciled in the commune of Artificio, Valparaíso Region, represented by Valentina Silva Aguilera. The violations were recorded in inspection reports drawn up on June 23, 2025, which documented serious deficiencies in the traceability and labeling of meat products offered to the public.
Violations in meat marketing
The SAG identified five irregularities at the facilities of Comercializadora y Servicios RYS SpA during the inspection:
- It does not prove the category of the meat it sells through tax documentation of product purchase.
- The smaller cuts displayed in refrigerated display cases are not separated by category nor do they have the designation according to standard NCh 1.596 Of. 99.
- The meat sales record does not indicate cut, category, and weight sold in dispatch guides, invoices, or other authorized documents.
- The category of meat for sale is not indicated on a board or means of information visible to the public.
- The labels of portioned cuts do not record origin, slaughterhouse establishment, slaughter or processing date, category, and cut name.
The company filed written arguments in its defense on June 30, 2025, but the authority resolved to impose a fine of 12 UTM (monthly tax units), in effect as of the date of actual payment. The resolution was signed by Astrid Tatiana Tala Díaz, Regional Director of the SAG of Valparaíso.
Sanction for irregularities in grape reception
In the same issue of the Official Gazette, exempt resolution No. 2,883, dated October 22, 2025, notifies case Rol No. 20505300 against Matetic Wine Group S.A., a vineyard based in Vitacura, Metropolitan Region, represented by Arturo Julio Larraín Bustamante. The inspection reports of April 24, 2025, confirmed that the company does not issue a reception guide upon receiving wine grapes traded with all the information established by the product regulations.
The infringement falls under Law No. 20,656, of 2013, which regulates commercial transactions of agricultural products, and its special regulations for wine grapes (Decree No. 122, of 2014). Matetic Wine Group S.A. filed a defense on May 2, 2025, but the SAG resolved to impose a fine of 5 UTM, likewise signed by the regional director.
Deadlines for appeal and payment
Both resolutions establish that those affected have the right to challenge the fine through an appeal for review before the National Director of SAG, within a period of ten business days from notification. In the event of not appealing, payment must be made within the same period at any SAG office.
If the fine is not paid within the deadline or a payment agreement with two consecutive installments is breached, the remaining balance will be transferred to the General Treasury of the Republic for collection.
The sanctions reinforce State oversight of the supply chain for food of animal origin and wine products, strategic sectors of the Chilean economy that demand strict traceability and quality controls to ensure consumer protection.
