Por FactBox Admin

The General Directorate of Labor of the Government of the Canary Islands has registered in the Registry of collective agreements and labor accords and has ordered the publication of the collective agreement of the company FCC and the personnel in its service dedicated to waste collection and public cleaning of the municipality of Güímar. The resolution, signed on August 6, 2026, by the Director General of Labor, José Ramón Rodríguez Albertus, appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife number 99, of August 19, 2026, with the reference 289501.
The agreement was signed by the Negotiating Table of the agreement and regulates the labor conditions of the workers who provide the municipal waste collection and street cleaning service in the Tenerife municipality. With its registration, the text acquires full regulatory efficacy and ceases to be a mere pact between the parties to bind all workers and the company within the agreed territorial and functional scope.
Legal framework of the registration
The action is supported by article 90.2 and 3 of the Recast Text of the Workers’ Statute Law, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of October 23, and by Royal Decree 713/2010, on the registration and deposit of collective agreements and labor accords. The competence corresponds to the General Directorate of Labor by virtue of article 12.2 a) of the Organic Regulation of the Ministry of Tourism and Employment, approved by Decree 37/2024, of March 4 (BOC no. 52, of March 12).
Content of the agreement
The agreement, identified with the code 38100011012011, establishes the remuneration, working hours, and working conditions framework for FCC personnel assigned to the waste collection and public cleaning service of Güímar. Among its key elements are:
- The determination of professional categories and their remuneration.
- Working hour conditions, breaks, and vacations.
- Supplements and bonuses linked to the municipal service.
- The rules of application and validity of the agreed text.
Effects of the publication
With the registration and deposit, the General Directorate of Labor notifies the agreement to the Negotiating Table and arranges its publication in the official gazette, so that the agreement is opposable and enforceable before the courts. The publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife guarantees the publicity and general knowledge of the text, an essential requirement for its full efficacy.
The entry into force of the agreement provides legal certainty both to the company awarded the service contract and to the workers, whose labor conditions are clearly and stably established in a service essential for the municipality, such as waste collection and the cleaning of public roads in Güímar.
