Rábade cobra 127.257 euros de auga, lixo e sumidoiro do quinto bimestre

The Rábade City Council has given the green light to the collection of water fees, the sewage fee, the Xunta water canon, and waste collection for the fifth bimester of 2026, with a total amount of 127,257.38 euros. The approval was made by Mayoral Decree of October 27, 2026, signed by the mayor Remedios González Cabarcos, and the edict was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 254, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, with the official reference R. 2988. The announcement simultaneously opens the voluntary payment period and a one-month deadline to consult the register and file claims.

The register is the instrument that transfers the real cost of municipal water supply and sanitation services to the residents. By unifying four concepts into a single document, the Council settles the debts generated in the period, freezes the accounts, and enables the ordinary collection machinery.

Four services in a single bill

The approved settlement includes four distinct concepts referring to four different municipal services:

  • Fee for the provision of water services.
  • Sewage fee.
  • Water canon, an autonomous tax passed on by the Xunta de Galicia.
  • Waste collection fee.

The global amount to be paid by the taxpayers registered in the register amounts to 127,257.38 euros (one hundred twenty-seven thousand two hundred fifty-seven euros and thirty-eight cents). The document can be consulted at the City Council Secretariat during the month following the publication of the edict, a period during which any interested party may examine it and present the allegations they deem appropriate.

Deadlines for payment and claims

The calendar established in the announcement is as follows:

  • Voluntary payment period: from October 27, 2026, to December 26, 2026.
  • Public information and allegations: one month from the publication of the edict in the BOP de Lugo, that is, from November 5, 2026.
  • Appeal for reversal: one month counting from the day following the end of the public exhibition of the taxpayer register, before the Mayor’s Office.

The publication of the edict serves as collective notification for all taxpayers included in the register, under the framework of article 102 of the General Tax Law and articles 23 and 24 of Royal Decree 939/2005, of July 29, which approves the General Collection Regulations.

Appeals and enforcement channels

Against the act of approval of the register and the incorporated settlements, an appeal for reversal may be filed before the Mayor’s Office or a contentious-administrative appeal before the contentious-administrative section of the Court of First Instance of Lugo, although both cannot be filed simultaneously. In the case of the water canon, its repercussion may be challenged through an economic-administrative claim before the Superior Board of Finance, of the Department of Finance of the Xunta de Galicia, within a period of one month from the day following the end of the public exhibition.

Once the voluntary payment period has expired without payment, debts will be demanded through the enforcement procedure via the provincial collection service, with the corresponding late payment surcharge and any costs incurred. Failure to pay the water canon will result in a direct demand to the taxpayer by the competent regional department of finance.

In the same issue of the bulletin, the Rábade City Council published another roll, that of the municipal sports schools for the first quarter of 2026-2027 (October, November, and December), approved by resolution of the mayor on October 26, 2026, for 11,403 euros and with a public exhibition period of fifteen days (R. 2989). In previous weeks, the Council had already notified other local rolls, such as the home assistance fee for September and the 2026 terrace licenses, for 1,372 euros.

The information is of direct interest to the residents of Rábade: those with pending receipts have less than two months to pay without a surcharge, and any billing error must be claimed within the month following the publication of this edict.
