Quatre auditeurs nommés au Conseil d'État belge

By royal decree of July 16, 2026, Arnaud PICQUÉ, Quentin PICQUEREAU, Lucie VERCHEVAL, and Dieu-Hanh NGUYEN are appointed as auditors to the Council of State as of September 2, 2026. The decision is published in the Belgian Official Gazette (Moniteur belge) of September 9, 2026, page 49374, under reference C-2026/006559.

On September 3, 2026, the four individuals took the prescribed oath before the deputy auditor general of the Council of State, a formality required for the effective exercise of their duties.

Appointment by Royal Decree

The appointment stems from a royal decree signed on July 16, 2026, an act of the federal executive power governing recruitment within State institutions. The auditors of the Council of State are magistrates of the public prosecutor’s office attached to this supreme administrative jurisdiction, responsible notably for investigating appeals and presenting reports in cases submitted to the administrative litigation section.

The appointed persons are:

  • Arnaud PICQUÉ
  • Quentin PICQUEREAU
  • Lucie VERCHEVAL
  • Dieu-Hanh NGUYEN

Effective Assumption of Duty

The appointment takes effect on September 2, 2026, the date on which the individuals enter into service. The oath, taken the following day, September 3, 2026, constitutes the solemn act that conditions the exercise of their powers. This procedure is part of the regular renewal of the auditor corps, which supports the chambers of the Council of State in the examination of files in both the legislation section and the litigation section.

Scope of the Decision

This appointment strengthens the auditor corps of the Council of State, a key institution of the Belgian legal order that ensures the legality of administrative acts and provides opinions on draft normative texts. For litigants and administrations, it guarantees the continuity and investigative capacity for cases submitted to the country’s highest administrative jurisdiction.
