2026 Accommodation Prices for the University Hospitals of the French Community
Por FactBox Admin

Two ministerial decrees of July 23, 2026, published in the Moniteur belge on August 26, 2026 (pages 46921 to 46923), set the 2026 accommodation prices for university hospitals of the French Community for the period from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, as well as the reference interest rates used for their calculation. Signed by the Minister-President in charge of the Budget and University Hospitals, they are issued in execution of the decree of July 19, 2017, relating to the accommodation price and the financing of certain equipment for heavy medico-technical services in university hospitals.
These texts are based on Article 9 of the decree of the Government of the French Community of December 20, 2017, implementing said decree. They were preceded by the opinion of the Inspection des finances given on July 6, 2026, and the opinion of the Minister of Finance given on July 23, 2026.
Daily prices set per hospital
The first decree, referenced [C − 2026/006185], determines, in application of Article 9, § 1 of the decree of December 20, 2017, the 2026 daily accommodation prices for each university hospital. The amounts retained are as follows:
- Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Namur in Godinne: 15.36 euros;
- Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert: 37.08 euros;
- Hôpital Erasme in Anderlecht: 9.76 euros.
These rates, expressed in euros per day of accommodation, constitute the billing basis for stays in the three university hospitals of the French Community for the 2026 financial year.
Updated reference interest rates
The second decree, referenced [C − 2026/006180], determines, for the calculation of the 2026 accommodation price, the reference interest rates referred to in Article 9 of the decree of December 20, 2017. These rates, which serve for the remuneration of capital invested in hospital infrastructure, are set as follows:
- 10-year reference rate: 3.57%;
- 20-year reference rate: 4.01%;
- 25-year reference rate: 4.08%.
These financial parameters directly condition the level of accommodation prices and, consequently, the financing of heavy medico-technical services in university hospitals.
Regulatory framework and entry into force
The two decrees, signed in Brussels on July 23, 2026, enter into force on July 1, 2026, at the beginning of the reference period they govern. They are applicable to the calculation of 2026 accommodation prices and cover the financial year from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.
Publication in the Moniteur belge on August 26, 2026, makes these rates enforceable against the concerned establishments and their patients, within the framework of the hospital financing regime of the French Community.
Scope for readers
These decrees set the daily accommodation cost applicable in the university hospitals of the French Community for one year, as well as the financial parameters that determine its level. They directly concern patients, insurance organizations, and hospital managers, who now have a stable and published pricing framework for the 2026-2027 period.
