Pedroche approves the modification of the General Plan and suspends urban planning licenses.
Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of the Pedroche City Council has initially approved the modification of the municipality’s General Municipal Planning Plan (PGOU), according to the notice published in Official Bulletin of the Province of Córdoba number 156, of August 13, 2026. The agreement, signed on August 7 by the mayor, Juan Ignacio Romero Romero, opens a 30-day public information period and suspends the granting of urban planning licenses in the affected areas.
The processing is covered by article 78.1 of Law 7/2021, of December 1, on the Impulse for the Sustainability of the Territory of Andalusia (LISTA), and by article 104.1 of its General Regulations, approved by Decree 550/2022, of November 29. The LISTA is the regulation that governs territorial planning and urban planning in Andalusia, and it replaced the previous Andalusian Urban Planning Law. The PGOU is the instrument that orders the urban planning of the entire municipal area, and its modification allows specific determinations of the current planning to be adjusted without the need to review it completely.
Initial approval and purpose of the change
The notice, inserted in the Local Administration section of the bulletin, includes the agreement adopted by the municipal Plenary and does not detail the specific content of the PGOU determinations that are modified. With the initial approval, the file is subject to the publicity and participation procedures provided for in Andalusian regulations, so that any person may examine it and submit the allegations they deem appropriate.
30-day public information period
In accordance with the LISTA and its Regulations, the modification is subject to public information for a period of 30 days, which begins to count from the day following the publication of the notice in the official bulletin. During that period, the file may be examined by any interested party.
- The public information period is 30 days from the day following publication in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Córdoba.
- The file may be consulted at the municipal offices of the Pedroche City Council.
- It will also be available to interested parties on the town hall’s electronic headquarters.
Suspension of urban planning licenses
The agreement includes the suspension of the granting of all kinds of approvals, authorizations and urban planning licenses in the areas affected by the modification of the plan. This measure prevents that, while the new planning is being processed, actions or constructions incompatible with the determinations intended to be approved are consolidated.
The suspension directly affects landowners and real estate developers with interests in the areas delimited by the planning change, who will have to wait for the conclusion of the procedure to resume their projects or adapt them to the new planning scheme.
The modification of the PGOU of Pedroche, a municipality in the Los Pedroches region, north of the province of Córdoba, will condition the town’s urban development in the coming years. During the procedure, residents, property owners and companies may participate by submitting representations, while the suspension regime guarantees that future determinations are not conditioned by actions approved during the public exhibition period.
