Osona adjusts the grants for books and materials for the 2026-2027 academic year

The Plenary of the Osona County Council, in its session on July 29, 2026, agreed to the modification, by rectification of a material error, of the call for grants for books, school materials, and activities within school hours for the 2026-2027 academic year. The announcement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona on August 31, 2026, with the official reference CVE 202610136015 and the registry BDNS 895259 in the National Grants Database.

The original call was published in the BOPB on April 7, 2026, and the regulatory bases in the BOPB on April 3, 2025. The modification is part of the management entrustment accepted from the Manlleu City Council for the 2026-2027 academic year, endowed with 48,000.00 euros, and its beneficiaries are students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade of primary school registered in Manlleu and enrolled in centers supported by public funds within the county.

Correction of material errors

The agreement detects that the call for the 2026-2027 academic year incorporated brackets and expressions specific to canteen grants, including 100% grants, references to the cost of the canteen, the Department’s maximum price, and the midday space, which are not suitable for the purpose of the call and contradict the co-payment established in the entrustment. Therefore, the bases and the call are modified so that the criteria for admission, evaluation, ordering, granting, denial, and quantification are coherent, objective, and previously known.

The technical and legal reports in favor of the modification are included in the file dated July 23, 2026.

New evaluation criteria and amount

The new point 5 of the bases establishes objective evaluation criteria up to a maximum of 30 points:

• Accreditation of socioeconomic status through canteen assistance: 10 points (70%) or 15 points (100%).
• Social situation accredited by basic social services: 10 points (social risk) or 15 points (severe social risk).

In the event of a tie, the following shall be applied successively: the lower proportion between the computable family income and the applicable threshold, the lower computable family income, and the higher social risk score. Applications that meet the requirements but cannot be attended to due to lack of credit will be listed as not granted due to budget exhaustion.

Maximum amount of 70% and limit of 200 euros

The individual amount of the grant will be, at most, 70% of the accredited eligible expenditure, without exceeding the unit limit of 200.00 euros per student and academic year. In no case may the grant cover 100% of the expenditure or exceed its actual cost. The 100% brackets and all references to the canteen service are entirely removed.

The amount per son or daughter is also corrected to 4,158.45 euros, and the second adult and other adults of the family unit are included within the consumption unit of 6,930.70 euros. Exceeding the thresholds for income, business volume, asset returns, and assets are maintained as grounds for denial, and requests denied for non-compliance are distinguished from those not granted due to exhaustion of credit.

Processing and public information

The modification of the bases is submitted for public information for twenty business days, through announcements in the provincial official bulletins and on the electronic notice board, and an extract is published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya. If no claims or allegations are presented, the initial agreement will become final without the need for a new express agreement. The modified regime will apply to all applications for the 2026-2027 academic year that have not been definitively resolved.

The measure is relevant for families with school-age children in the Osona region, especially those registered in Manlleu, because it clarifies the conditions of access and the amount of the grants, guarantees family co-payment, and establishes an objective and predictable framework for granting for the next academic year.
