Por FactBox Admin

The Department of Social Rights and Inclusion has opened the 2026 call for the social benefit of an economic nature based on the right of competition for social care for people with disabilities, intended to cover expenses incurred during the years 2024, 2025, and 2026. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC) number 9736, of August 24, 2026, through Order DSI/151/2026, of August 3, signed by the Minister Raúl Moreno Montaña (reference CVE-DOGC-A-26217042-2026). Applications can be submitted from the day after publication until 2:00 PM on October 2, 2026.
The benefit, created by Agreement GOV/44/2017, of April 4, is currently governed by Agreement GOV/268/2024, of December 23, which repealed Agreement GOV/225/2022 and modified the processing and granting procedure. The call has an initial allocation of 2,500,000 euros, assigned to the budget line of managing center BE13 (Directorate General for Personal Autonomy and Disability), extendable up to a maximum of 7,100,000 euros depending on budget availability.
Who can apply
Beneficiaries may be individuals who meet the following requirements:
- Be registered (empadronades) and have legal residence in Catalonia for five years, two of which must be immediately prior to the application (with exemptions for returned Catalan citizens and women victims of gender-based violence).
- Have a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%, or be beneficiaries of a permanent disability pension, or passive class pensioners due to disability, recognized before the age of 65.
- Be in a situation of need, meaning annual net income equal to or less than 3.5 times the Sufficiency Income Indicator of Catalonia (IRSC) for 2026, set at 801.85 euros per month and 9,622.18 euros per year.
What it covers and how much
The purpose of the benefit is to cover expenses for products and actions that promote the personal autonomy of people with physical, psychic, or sensory disabilities. The catalog includes:
- Mobility and transport: obtaining or converting a driver’s license (up to 1,250 euros), vehicle adaptation (up to 2,100 euros), transport to attend early intervention centers (up to 1,250 euros per year), and transport for post-compulsory formal education (up to 650 euros per year).
- Personal autonomy and communication: support products for people with visual, auditory, physical, intellectual, or mental disabilities, standing lifts, communicators, stairlifts, environmental control systems, and benefits for assistance dog users.
The maximum subsidizable amount for the set of requested benefits is 9,500 euros, and payment is made in a single bank transfer once the justification has been validated.
Assessment and resolution
The grant is processed under a competitive bidding system and is assessed by the Assessment Commission, which scores applications based on income (up to 10 points for incomes below 2.5 times the IRS) and awards 3 additional points to women who are in or emerging from a situation of gender-based violence. In the event of a tie, priority is given to applications with lower incomes, those submitted by women with disabilities, and those with an earlier submission date. The maximum deadline for resolution and notification is November 27, 2026, and the resolutions will be published on the Generalitat’s electronic notice board.
The call directly affects the beneficiary families, who have just over a month to submit the application and documentation, preferably by electronic means through the Generalitat’s headquarters. With an allocation that can reach 7.1 million euros, the benefit aims to improve the quality of life and promote the social integration of people with disabilities with fewer economic resources.
