Sergas appoints 28 administrative staff as permanent employees and assigns definitive destinations

The Galician Health Service (Sergas) has appointed as permanent statutory staff the 28 selected candidates from the competitive examination for entry into the technical group and administrative management group categories, and has assigned them definitive destinations. This decision was made by the General Directorate of Human Resources via a resolution dated August 25, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (Diario Oficial de Galicia) no. 169, on September 7, 2026 (CVE-DOG reference: flo7nxh9-snp0-h6e6-8774-wuj5qi8uv3c6).

The process began with the call for the competitive examination approved by resolution on December 19, 2023, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia no. 241, on December 21. Subsequently, the resolution of June 15, 2026 (DOG no. 144, August 3) announced the final list of selected persons and opened a period of ten business days for the electronic selection of destinations, through the Fides/expedient-e information system, in order of precedence.

Appointment and definitive destinations

The resolution appoints as permanent statutory staff the persons included in Annex I and assigns to each, as a definitive destination, the position specified in the same annex. The competitive examination is thus declared closed, without prejudice to the provisions of base 10.3 of the call.

• Administrative function management group: 26 persons appointed.
• Administrative function technical group: 2 persons appointed.

Destinations are assigned to centers within health areas throughout Galicia, including:

• University Hospital Complex of Vigo
• University Hospital Complex of Lugo
• University Hospital Complex of A Coruña
• University Hospital Complex of Ourense
• University Hospital Complex of Santiago
• University Hospital Complex of Pontevedra
• Architect Marcide University Hospital Complex (Ferrol)
• Virxe da Xunqueira Public Hospital (Cee)
• Monforte Public Hospital
• La Mariña Public Hospital (Burela)

Incorporation deadlines and taking office

Appointed persons will have a period of one month, counted from the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Gazette of Galicia, to join the assigned position. The taking of office shall take place at the management center to which the position belongs.

Failure to join within the referred period, when attributable to the interested person and not due to justified causes, will result in the forfeiture of their right to obtain the status of permanent statutory staff. In cases of force majeure, and at the request of the interested person, the General Directorate of Human Resources may extend the deadline for taking office. The incorporation into the assigned positions will entail the termination of any temporary staff who may be occupying them.

Coverage of leaves and mandatory training

In order to ensure the coverage of the convened positions, when the selected persons do not continue in the process for various reasons, the vacancy shall be filled by the applicant included immediately following in the list of approved candidates, according to the order of precedence of the final list. The next applicant shall be called in cases of waiver of the rights derived from the process, failure to meet the established requirements, failure to present the required documentation, failure to make the choice of position in the timely and appropriate manner, failure to take office, or being declared in a situation of leave without the right to reserve a position.

Selected persons must complete, on a mandatory basis and within a period not exceeding six months from the publication of the appointment, the training activities for obtaining the basic level of knowledge in matters of gender equality and the prevention and fight against gender violence, in accordance with Decree 70/2017 and Law 7/2023. Those who have already completed them previously, provided they are registered in Fides/expedient-e and were duly validated, will not have to do so.

The resolution, which ends the administrative route, may be challenged by means of an optional appeal for reversal within one month or directly in the contentious-administrative jurisdiction. With this appointment, Sergas consolidates hundreds of administrative positions in its hospitals and provides stability to professionals who passed the selection process, a relevant step toward reducing temporality among the management personnel of the Galician public health system.
