Montánchez aprueba 7.320 euros en ayudas escolares para el curso 2026/2027

The Montánchez City Council has approved the regulatory bases and the call for grants for students enrolled in the 2026/2027 school year, with a budget of 7,320 euros, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0179, dated September 18, 2026, with official reference BOP-2026-4360. The approval was formalized through a Resolution of September 10, 2026, by the mayor-president of the corporation, and the grants are intended to cover the start-of-term expenses for families registered and residing within the municipal district.

The agreement is based on the need detected by the council itself to partially alleviate the current family expenditure that increases with the start of the school year, “a considerable effort and difficult to bear in many households,” as stated in the text of the bases, in order to avoid situations of social exclusion. The expenditure of 7,320 euros is charged to budget application 23102/48000 of the current General Budget of 2026 and to the Grants Annex of the Budget Execution Bases for that fiscal year.

Amounts and educational levels covered

The grants are awarded directly to all applicants who meet the requirements, given their social interest, and cover the following education levels pursued in teaching centers based in Montánchez:

  • Daycare, Early Childhood Education (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and Compulsory Primary Education (1st and 2nd): 60 euros per beneficiary student.
  • Compulsory Primary Education (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th), Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training (Training Cycle): 40 euros per beneficiary student.

Payment is made via bank transfer in a single payment, to the legal representative if the student is a minor or to the applicant themselves if they have reached the age of majority. The grants are compatible with others of the same purpose from other public administrations, provided that the sum of all of them does not exceed the cost of the grant awarded.

Requirements and application deadline

Parents or legal guardians of enrolled students, as well as students of legal age who meet the following conditions, may be beneficiaries:

  • To be registered as residents (empadronados) in Montánchez at the time of submitting the application; in the case of separation or divorce, the requirement is only demanded of the parent with guardianship and custody.
  • To be enrolled in the 2026/2027 course in any of the mentioned levels, in centers based in the municipality, and to complete the full course.
  • To be up to date with tax obligations to the Montánchez City Council.

Applications, addressed to the Mayor’s Office-Presidency, shall be submitted according to the model in Annex II at the General Registry of the city council, located at Plaza de España number 1 in Montánchez (Cáceres), from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 14:00 hours, within a period of 15 business days from the day following the publication of the guidelines in the BOP of Cáceres. They may also be submitted through the channels established in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015. The required documentation includes the DNI or NIE of the applicant and any student of legal age, a certificate from the school center, a banking document with the IBAN, a certificate of census registration (empadronamiento), a certificate of no debt to the municipal treasury, and the responsible declaration from Annex III; for multiple siblings, a single application is sufficient.

Processing, evaluation, and appeals

The instruction corresponds to the Employment and Local Development Agent of the city council. The evaluation is carried out by an Evaluation Commission chaired by the mayor or the councilor to whom they delegate, with one councilor from the Popular Municipal Group, another from the Socialist Municipal Group, and the Councilor for Culture, with the Intervening Secretary acting as secretary.

Within 30 days following the closing of the period, the provisional list of admitted and excluded applicants will be published, with 10 business days to rectify errors or file objections; the final lists will be displayed within 15 business days following the claims period, on the notice board and on the municipal electronic office. Administrative silence shall have a dismissive effect. Against the resolution, which ends the administrative route, a motion for reconsideration may be filed within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.

The call for applications arrives with the school year already underway and with the stated objective of alleviating the economic burden that returning to school represents for the families of the municipality. As it is a direct grant compatible with other aid, any registered household with children enrolled in the covered levels may apply, provided they submit the application within the 15-business-day period opened by the publication of the guidelines.
