Por FactBox Admin

The Belgian Official Gazette (Moniteur belge) No. 207 of September 14, 2026 (p. 49885) publishes the ministerial decree of September 8, 2026 regarding the issuance of the 1-year State Bond – September 4, 2026-2027 and the 10-year State Bond – September 4, 2026-2036, signed by the Minister of Finance, J. Jambon. This savings product, closely followed by Belgian households, is issued under the law of January 2, 1991, relating to the public debt securities market and the royal decree of July 9, 2000, relating to the issuance of state bonds.
The decree, referenced [C − 2026/006394], is based notably on the royal decree of April 2, 2026, authorizing the Minister of Finance to continue, in 2026, the issuance of loans denominated as “Linear Bonds,” “State Bonds,” and “Euro Medium Term Notes,” as well as the law of March 23, 2026, containing the budget for Ways and Means for the 2026 budget year.
Two maturities, two rates
The decree issues two distinct loans, each with a fixed annual interest rate:
- 1-year State Bond – September 4, 2026-2027: interest of 2.75% per year, from September 4, 2026, to September 3, 2027, inclusive;
- 10-year State Bond – September 4, 2026-2036: interest of 3.70% per year, from September 4, 2026, to September 3, 2036, inclusive.
In both cases, the issue price is set at 100.00% of the nominal value, and payment is made entirely in cash.
Subscription calendar
Public subscription, as referred to in Article 6 of the royal decree of July 9, 2000, opens on August 26, 2026, and closes on September 3, 2026. The payment date is set for September 4, 2026. However, the issuer may close the subscription period early before September 3, 2026.
The decree takes effect on August 26, 2026, the date the subscription opens, and was signed in Brussels on September 8, 2026.
Impact for savers
This issuance offers Belgian households two investment horizons guaranteed by the State, with a higher yield over the long term (3.70% over ten years versus 2.75% over one year). Publication in the Belgian Official Gazette makes the operation enforceable and establishes the final contractual conditions, providing subscribers with an official basis to compare this investment with other savings products on the market.
