Medio Rural convoca 700.000 euros en axudas ás organizacións agrarias galegas

The Department of Rural Affairs (Consellería do Medio Rural) has approved the regulatory bases and the 2026 call for grants for professional agricultural organizations and agricultural associations intended for activities of agricultural interest, with a budget of 700,000 euros. The Order of September 30, 2026, signed by the counselor María José Gómez Rodríguez, was published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 191, of October 7, 2026, along with the summary of the call in the National Subsidy Database (BDNS 933045). The procedure is processed under code MR321A and the deadline for submitting applications is one month from the day following its publication.

The regulation invokes Law 1/2006, of June 5, of the Galician Agricultural Council, which recognizes the role of professional agricultural organizations in the structure of the primary sector, and Organic Law 1/2002, of March 22, regulating the right of association. The grant is awarded on a competitive basis through the apportionment system, as provided for in article 19.3 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia, with the objective of guaranteeing financial funding for all agricultural entities.

The funding is charged to the budgetary application 15.04.712C.481.1 (project 2013.00635) of the general budgets of the Autonomous Community for 2026, for an amount of 700,000.00 euros, an amount that may be increased if credit is generated, expanded, or incorporated.

Who can apply for the grants

Professional agricultural organizations and agricultural associations may be beneficiaries, although each applicant may only apply through one of the two channels. The requirements are:

  • Professional agricultural organizations: have more than five representatives of the producing and non-cooperative part in the elections to the regulatory councils called by the Order of November 7, 2022, and be a CAP collaborating entity with at least 1% of the single CAP 2026 applications processed.
  • Agricultural associations: provincial or regional scope of action, constituted according to Organic Law 1/2002 and with the activity code “811 Agriculture, livestock, forestry, hunting, fishing”.
  • Additionally, associations must meet two of the following four conditions: representation of the producing part in the regulatory councils, registration in the Registry of Entities with Advisory or Management Services of Galicia with service provided in 2026, being a CAP collaborating entity with 1% of the single applications, or being a collaborating entity of the department in agroforestry training with service provided in 2026.

Eligible activities and amount

The costs of activities carried out between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026, will be eligible for subsidies:

  • Functions and actions specific to the legal regulations.
  • Ordinary internal management functions.
  • Representation before institutions.
  • Participation in the collegiate bodies of the Galician Administration (boards, commissions).
  • Training of members and their families in agricultural or agri-food activities.
  • Promotion of agricultural associationism.

The funds are divided into two items with independent allocation: item 1, for professional agricultural organizations, with 80% of the credit, and item 2, for agricultural associations, with the remaining 20%, with the possibility of partial transfer between both. The amount starts from a base premium of 15,000.00 euros, which increases according to these values:

  • 62.50 euros for each CAP application processed above the thresholds of 2% (organizations) and 1% (associations), up to a maximum of 187,500.00 euros.
  • 6,250.00 euros for each representative on the regulatory councils starting from the sixth, in the case of organizations, and from the first, in the case of associations, up to a maximum of 125,000.00 euros.
  • 20,000.00 euros for each additional province with an office, up to a maximum of 60,000.00 euros.

The amount of the aid may not exceed 85% of the cost of the eligible activities.

Deadline, processing, and resolution

Applications must be submitted electronically using the standardized form (Annex I) available on the electronic headquarters of the Xunta de Galicia, using any of the admitted identification mechanisms, including Chave365. The deadline is one month counted from the day following the publication of the order in the DOG; if the last day is a non-working day, it is extended to the first following working day.

The processing of the files corresponds to the Agricultural Holdings and Associationism Service of the Sub-directorate General of Agricultural Holdings, which will require the correction of deficiencies within a period of ten days. The resolution will be issued within one month from the end of the application period by the head of the General Directorate of Livestock, Agriculture, and Agri-food Industries, by delegation of the counselor, and will be published in the DOG. Notifications will be exclusively electronic through Notifica.gal, and optional appeals for reversal and contentious-administrative appeals may be filed against the resolutions before the High Court of Justice of Galicia.

The grants are incompatible with any other for the same objectives and expenses, and non-compliance may lead to the reimbursement of the amount plus late payment interest.

The call comes at a time when agrarian organizations act as interlocutors for the sector before the Administration, meaning that the allocation affects their capacity for representation, training, and the maintenance of offices. The distribution by pro-rata ensures that all entities meeting the requirements receive funding, although the final amount will depend on the number of applications submitted and the available credit.
