The Marinaleda City Council has announced a competitive selection process to establish an employment pool of monitors intended for the execution of the educational reinforcement program of the Comprehensive Plan for the Gypsy Community 2026. The call, signed by Mayor Sergio Gómez Reyes via Resolution No. 266/2026, dated August 19, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville number 162, dated August 21, 2026 (official reference BOP-SE-2026-162011).

The program is subsidized by the Provincial Council of Seville and provides for temporary part-time contracts for the period between October and December. The selection is processed under file 2026/BEM_01/000004 (internal reference VA2170).

Requirements and Qualifications

To participate in the process, it is necessary to meet the general requirements of Article 56 of the Recast Text of the Law of the Basic Statute of Public Employees (Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30). The required qualifications are:

  • Diploma or Degree in Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary Education).
  • University Degree in any secondary education specialty.

Along with the application, addressed to the mayor-president, a photocopy of the NIF or passport, a copy of the qualifying degree, diplomas or training certificates, an updated work history report, and a company certificate or certificate of services rendered must be provided.

Selection System

The evaluation is carried out through a competitive process with a maximum score of 10 points, distributed across three phases:

  • Training (maximum 2.50 points): official courses related to the position, from 0.05 points for courses of less than 20 hours up to 0.50 for those over 100 hours.
  • Experience (maximum 2.50 points): 0.30 points per full month in Public Administration and 0.20 per month in the private sector, in positions of equal or similar designation.
  • Oral Presentation (maximum 5.00 points): presentation of an educational reinforcement workshop programming project and an oral defense of up to 15 minutes.

The project must be submitted in Verdana format, 10-point font, with single spacing, 2-centimeter margins, and a maximum of 5 pages.

Deadlines and Tribunal

The deadline for submitting applications is 10 calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the rules on the entity’s Notice Board. Once the deadline has expired, the provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates will be published within a maximum of 15 business days, with a period of 2 business days for claims.

The qualifying tribunal will be chaired by Dolores Rodríguez Gutiérrez, with Manuel Gutiérrez Daneri as secretary and members Rafael Jurado Baena, Rocío Rodríguez Saavedra, and María Jesús Guillén González. In the event of a tie, priority will be given to the experience score, followed by training, and finally, the interview.

The call for applications may be challenged through an appeal for reversal before the Mayor’s Office within one month or directly before the contentious-administrative jurisdiction within two months.

Relevance of the call

This employment pool represents a concrete job opportunity for Teaching graduates in the region, in a municipality with a strong tradition of temporary public employment. The hiring, which is exceptional and urgent according to the bases themselves, guarantees the coverage of educational reinforcement aimed at the Roma community during the last quarter of the year, funded by provincial funds.
