Lucena appoints five career officials through open competitive examination

The Lucena City Council has made public the appointment of five career civil servants to occupy five Administrative positions, vacant in its personnel staff and filled through the open competitive examination system. The decision, adopted by resolution no. 2026/00007314, dated July 30, 2026, is disseminated via an announcement signed by the mayor, Aurelio Fernández García, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 160, dated August 19, 2026.
The announcement is based on article 62.1 b) of the Basic Statute of Public Employees Law, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which regulates the acquisition of career civil servant status. With this act, the City Council consolidates municipal public employment after completing the selection process convened the previous year.
The five new civil servants
The appointed persons, who acquire the status of career civil servants of the Most Excellent City Council of Lucena, are as follows:
- Mª Ángeles Gómez Mateos
- Macarena Muñoz Alba
- Josefa Muñoz Ramírez
- María Reyes Carvajal
- Fernando Blanca Luque
All of them passed the selection process convened to fill the five Administrative positions through the open competitive examination system.
The selection process
The rules of the call were published in full in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 74, dated April 15, 2025. Additionally, an extract of the call was disseminated in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía number 89, dated May 13, 2025, and in the Official State Gazette number 137, dated June 7, 2025.
The appointment announcement, dated in Lucena on August 6, 2026, incorporates the Secure Verification Code (CSV) which allows the authenticity of the electronic document to be verified on the provincial gazette portal.
Relevance for the municipality
With this appointment, the Lucena City Council reinforces its administrative structure with career personnel selected through open access procedures, guaranteeing the stability and professionalization of its staff. The consolidation of these five Administrative positions represents another step in the normalization of municipal public employment and in the provision of services to the citizenry.
