Lourenzá approves credits with treasury surplus

The Lourenzá City Council has publicized the final approval of two credit modifications to the current municipal budget, financed by the liquid treasury surplus, after no objections were presented during the public exhibition period. The agreements, adopted by the Plenary on July 2, 2026, were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 193, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, under references R. 2268 and R. 2269.
The publication is carried out under article 169.1, by referral of 179.4, of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. The announcements were signed by the mayor, Rocío López García, dated August 19, 2026.
Extraordinary credit and credit supplement
The two modifications affect the economic management of the council and were processed as independent files:
- File 338/2026 (reference R. 2268): extraordinary credit financed by the liquid treasury surplus.
- File 241/2026 (reference R. 2269): credit supplement also financed by the liquid treasury surplus.
Detail of the credit supplement
The credit supplement of file 241/2026 increases expenditure application 231/227, which goes from 60,000 to 101,600.84 euros, with a supplement of 41,600.84 euros. The operation is offset in the revenue chapter with application 870, “Treasury Surplus for General Expenses”, for the same amount of 41,600.84 euros.
Appeals and deadlines
Against the agreements, according to article 171.1 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed within two months from the publication, before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Galicia (based in A Coruña for file R. 2268 and in Lugo for R. 2269), in accordance with article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, of the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. The filing of the appeal does not by itself suspend the effectiveness of the challenged agreement.
The final approval of these modifications allows the council to have funds to meet expenses not initially foreseen in the budget, using the treasury surplus, which strengthens the municipal economic management capacity without resorting to new debt.
