The University of Zaragoza announces 251 public employment positions for 2026

La Universidad de Zaragoza convoca 251 plazas de empleo público para 2026

The Rector of the University of Zaragoza, Rosa M.ª Bolea Bailo, has ordered the publication of the 2026 Public Employment Offer for technical, management, and administration and services civil servants, by means of a Resolution dated September 8, 2026. The announcement appears in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 178, dated September 14, 2026, in section II (Authorities and Personnel), in the competitive examinations and contests section, with official reference BOA20260914009.

The offer was approved by Agreement of the Governing Council of the University of Zaragoza in the session of June 29, 2026, and is issued in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 50 of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System, and Article 66 of the Statutes of the University of Zaragoza, approved by Decree 23/2025, of February 28, of the Government of Aragon. It is framed within the provisions of Article 70.2 of the revised text of the Basic Statute of Public Employees, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30.

Distribution of positions

The total of 251 positions is divided between the open entry and internal promotion, within the University of Zaragoza’s own scales:

  • Open entry: 68 positions.
  • Internal promotion: 183 positions (via competitive examination and via opposition).
  • Total: 251 positions.

Among the called scales, the following stand out: in subgroup A1, Senior IT Technicians, Language Technicians (English specialty), and Research Transfer Technicians; in A2, the Management scale (19 positions) and Intermediate IT Technicians; and in C1, the Administrative scale of the University of Zaragoza (68 positions) and Library Specialist Technicians. In subgroup C2, the University Assistant scales (45 positions in open entry and 3 in internal promotion) and General Services Assistant are listed.

Reservation quotas

In compliance with current legislation regarding reservation quotas, Annex II of the Resolution establishes the positions reserved for open entry:

  • Transgender people: 2 positions (Library Specialist Technicians, subgroup C1, and General Services Assistant, subgroup C2).
  • Women victims of violence: 3 positions (Laboratory and Workshop Specialist Technicians, Biomedical specialty, subgroup C1, and 2 University Assistants, subgroup C2).
  • Victims of terrorism: 2 University Assistant positions, subgroup C2.

The calls for the selection processes will guarantee the constitutional principles of equality, merit, and capacity, as well as those contemplated in Article 55.2 of the Basic Statute of Public Employees, and will be carried out following the mandatory authorizations of Article 46.2.e) of Organic Law 2/2023.

Deadlines and appeals

The maximum duration of the selection processes derived from this offer shall not exceed twelve months, counted from the publication of the final lists of admitted and excluded applicants until the proposal for appointment as career civil servants. Against the Resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, the following may be filed:

  • Contentious-administrative appeal within a period of two months before the High Court of Justice of Aragon.
  • Appeal for reversal before the same body within a period of one month, in which case no contentious-administrative appeal may be filed until an express resolution or presumed dismissal is issued.

The publication of this offer opens the door to thousands of public employment applicants in Aragon, who may apply for stable positions at the community’s main university, with special attention to groups with guaranteed reserve quotas.
