La UEx convoca 58 plazas de profesor ayudante doctor en concurso extraordinario

The Rector of the University of Extremadura (UEx) has announced an extraordinary public competition to fill 58 positions for Teaching and Research staff hired under a labor regime, all of them in the category of Assistant Professor (PhD). The call is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) number 197, dated October 13, 2026, via Resolution number 1423/2026, dated October 5, 2026 (reference 2026062532), and responds to “urgent and unavoidable” needs of the institution.

The resolution is based on Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System, and Decree 17/2026, of April 21, which regulates the regime of teaching and research staff hired under a labor regime at the UEx, along with the Statutes of the University of Extremadura approved by Decree 163/2026, of September 9. It also invokes the agreement for the publication of an extraordinary competition approved by the Governing Council of the UEx on July 28, 2026, and the agreement with the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the Department of Education, Science and Vocational Training of the Regional Government of Extremadura for the Teaching and Research Talent Incorporation Program.

Each position is processed independently, and the rules are binding for the Administration and the selection committees. The document was signed in Badajoz and Cáceres on October 5, 2026, by the Vice-Rector for Faculty, Jacinto Ramón Martín Jiménez, by delegation of the Rector.
