La UCLM abre la sexta ampliación de bolsas de profesorado sustituto

The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) has approved the regulatory bases for the sixth extraordinary call for the expansion of talent pools for the incorporation of teaching staff under labor contracts in the category of Substitute Professors. The Resolution of 09/30/2026 is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha (DOCM) on October 7, 2026, number 193, with the reference [2026/7149]. Applicants will have five business days to submit their application.

The call is issued under Article 80 of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System (LOSU) and the Regulation governing the selection process and hiring of substitute professors at UCLM, published via Resolution of 05/24/2024 (DOCM 06/05/2024) and modified by the Resolution of 10/23/2024. The rectorate justifies the measure due to “the predicted exhaustion of the pools corresponding to certain fields of knowledge.”

This is not an isolated call. The ordinary pool was established by Resolution of 09/27/2024 (DOCM 10/02/2024) and has already been followed by five extraordinary expansions: 07/08/2025 (DOCM 07/15/2025), 11/20/2025 (DOCM 12/02/2025), 04/10/2026 (DOCM 04/16/2026), 07/10/2026 (DOCM 07/17/2026), and 07/31/2026 (DOCM 08/17/2026). Those who join now will be called last, after the initial pool and the five previous expansions, always according to their scoring order.

Five-business-day deadline and fees

The application must be submitted exclusively electronically, through the UCLM calls application. The deadline is reduced to five business days starting from the day following the publication in the DOCM, in application of Article 10.4 of the Regulation, “in view of the urgency in covering teaching positions.”

The file processing fees are paid for each specialty applied for:

  • 30.09 euros with electronic payment, with a 10% discount.
  • 33.43 euros with in-person payment at a banking entity.
  • Exemption for unemployed persons for at least one uninterrupted month, persons with a disability equal to or greater than 33%, and special category large families.
  • 50% discount for general category large families.

Along with the application, the NIF or NIE, proof of payment, the required Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees, and, for specialties with a bilingual profile, the certification of the linguistic competence level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages must be provided.

Fourteen fields of knowledge

Annex I details the called specialties and the required qualifications for each:

  • 175 Procedural Law.
  • 189 Didactics of Musical Expression.
  • 195 Didactics of Language and Literature.
  • 23001 Financial Economics and Accounting (Accounting).
  • 355 Latin Philology.
  • 381 Philosophy of Law.
  • 555 Chemical Engineering.
  • 567 Spanish Language.
  • 575 General Linguistics.
  • 583 Spanish Literature.
  • 635 Music.
  • 775 Sociology.
  • 796 Literary Theory and Comparative Literature.

The specialty of Didactics of Corporal Expression is added. Candidates may opt for any of the campuses or locations where teaching in these areas is provided.

Scoring scale, commission, and calls

Selection is resolved by public competition with a scoring scale of 100 points, of which a minimum of 50 is required (equivalent to 5 out of 10). Academic training provides up to 50 points, teaching, research, and transfer experience up to 20, suitability for the teaching profile up to 20, and other merits up to 10.

The Selection Commission is chaired by the Vice-Rector for Faculty and Professional Development, with the Academic Director of the same vice-rectorate as secretary. The permanent members are Ramón Cózar Gutiérrez, Fernando Evaristo Callejas Albiñana, and Blanca Notario Pacheco, and the substitutes are Juan Carlos Pérez Flores, Begoña Ruiz Cordero, and Olga García Álvarez.

The contracts will be temporary and will comprise between 3 and 6 weekly hours of teaching and an equal number of tutoring hours, extendable to 7 or 8 hours of teaching with 6 of tutoring. The call grants 24 hours to accept or reject the offer and 48 hours to provide the formalization documentation.

The resolution bears the signature of María Antonia Herrero Chamorro, Vice-Rector for Faculty and Professional Development, by delegation of Resolution 13/01/2025 (DOCM 15/01/2025).

The call arrives with the course already started and with pools exhausted in several areas, so that teachers interested in joining the UCLM as substitutes have a very short window: five business days to formalize the application and enter the call order of the pool for their specialty.
