La Roda announces three Local Police vacancies via open competitive examination

The La Roda City Council has announced three vacancies for the Basic Scale, Police category, of the municipality’s Local Police Force, which will be filled via open competition and through a competitive examination process. The regulatory bases are published in full in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 111, dated September 23, 2026, Third Section (Local Administration), pages 25 to 36, under official reference 24.163. The resolution bears the signature of the mayor, Juan Ramón Amores García, and is dated in La Roda on September 18, 2026.

Approval and Regulatory Framework

The bases were approved by agreement of the Local Government Board on August 13, 2026, and modified by agreement of the same body on September 17, 2026. Their full publication is carried out under Article 97 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of Local Regime.

The call for applications is based on the Public Employment Offer published in the Official Gazette number 78, of July 8, 2026, and on Article 20 of Law 8/2002, of May 23, on the Coordination of Local Police of Castilla-La Mancha. The positions are classified in subgroup C-1 as provided for in Article 76 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee.

The procedure is subject to, among other regulations, Decree 110/2006, of October 17, which approves the Regulation of the Law on the Coordination of Local Police of Castilla-La Mancha, Law 4/2011, of March 10, on Public Employment of Castilla-La Mancha, and Royal Decree 364/1995, of March 10. The bases had already been published on September 7, 2026, in the Official Gazette of the Province number 104, page 79, and are now reproduced with the approved modifications.

Requirements and Submission of Applications

Applicants must meet, and maintain until taking office, the following conditions:

• Spanish nationality and an age between 18 years and the compulsory retirement age.
• High School Diploma (Bachiller), Vocational Training Technician degree, or equivalent.
• Driving licenses of classes B and A or A2.
• Adequate physical and psychological conditions and the absence of a criminal record for intentional crimes.
• Not having been convicted by a final judgment for crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity.
• Commitment to carry weapons and to use them in the cases provided for by law.

The application period is twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the call for applications in the Official State Gazette. Processing is exclusively electronic, via the municipal electronic office, and only one application per person will be admitted. Provisionally excluded candidates will have ten business days to rectify any defects.

Four eliminatory tests and selective course

The selection system consists of a competitive examination phase and a subsequent selective course. The examination includes four mandatory and eliminatory tests:

• Physical fitness: 60-meter sprint, 1,000-meter run, standing broad jump, and medicine ball throw, with minimum marks differentiated by gender and age groups.
• Knowledge test: 80 questions plus 10 reserve questions, with four alternative answers, 75 minutes in duration, and a penalty of one-third for each error; a maximum of 20 people may pass.
• Psychotechnical test: general intelligence and aptitude test, and a personality and capabilities test.
• Medical examination, in accordance with the medical exclusion table in Annex III.

The examination phase may not exceed six months from the first test, and between one test and the next, between 72 hours and 45 business days must elapse. Those who pass will be appointed as trainee civil servants and must complete the selective course at the Citizen Protection School; following the School’s report, the appointment as career civil servants will be formalized within fifteen business days.

Grading Tribunal and appeals

The Grading Tribunal will be presided over by a career civil servant appointed by the convening body, with the Corporation’s secretary—with voice but no vote—and four members, including the person holding the headship of the Local Police and a civil servant proposed by the Ministry of Finance, Public Administrations, and Digital Transformation of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. The order of appearance of the candidates is governed by the letter Q, as established in the Resolution of November 26, 2025, of the General Directorate of the Civil Service.

Against the call for applications, which ends the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Albacete within two months.

The call opens a stable access route to the municipal body and reinforces the municipality’s citizen security staff, in addition to establishing for the candidates a calendar and specific conditions regarding exams, qualifications, and physical merits that will condition their preparation in the coming months.
