La Ribera d'Ebre convoca ajuts per al transport adaptat a l'atenció diürna

The Ribera d’Ebre County Council has announced extraordinary financial grants intended to fund the transport of people with disabilities, dependency, or dementia to specialized social day-care services within the county. The Plenary agreement is dated July 28, 2026, and its extract was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on October 19, 2026, with the reference CVE 2026-09547 and identification number BDNS 934893. The call for applications is processed under a competitive bidding system and is valid for the corresponding annual period.

The approved text consists of the general regulatory bases for the granting of financial aid for adapted transport in the county, which incorporate the call for grants in the same act of approval. The specific bases were published in the BOP of Tarragona with the reference CVE 2026-07369, dated August 10, 2026, and the extract is disseminated in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, the general law on subsidies. The document was signed in Móra d’Ebre on October 13, 2026, by the corporation’s secretary, Joan-Carles Lacueva i Coll.

Beneficiaries and Purpose

The declared purpose is to promote the integration of the beneficiaries into their environment, provided that there is no adapted transport route from a day-care service that already has a transport route. The following may apply for the grants:

  • Persons over 18 years of age with disabilities and/or dependency who present mobility difficulties or a need for accompaniment.
  • Persons with a diagnosis of dementia.
  • Natural persons who do not fall under any of the circumstances provided for in article 13 of Law 38/2003 and who meet the conditions of the bases.

The grants cover access to specialized social day-care services for elderly people and for people with disabilities.

Calculation of the Amount

The amount is granted for a maximum of 250 service days per year within the calendar year of the call and according to the entity’s budget availability. The calculation is based on annual travel kilometers, with two prices depending on the means of transport:

  • Own vehicle: 0.30 euros per kilometer, including the round trip. The kilometers result from multiplying the distance between the home and the day-care center by the number of weekly trips and by the number of weeks the center is open annually.
  • Taxi or adapted transport with a lift: 1.80 euros per kilometer, with one trip there and one return trip daily, multiplied by the kilometers and by the number of annual days.

In the second case, the calculated amount is the maximum subsidizable amount and is paid based on the actual certified daily price, on a monthly basis, with a certificate of attendance from the center and an invoice for the service.

Deadline and Form of Payment

The application period remains open throughout the calendar year of the call’s validity, depending on the existing budget availability and the remaining conditions of the rules. Requests must be submitted using the standardized forms.

Once the documents have been verified, the Comarcal Council effects payment to the individuals resulting from the payment disbursement resolution. Generally, the grant is paid on a quarterly basis via bank transfer to the account designated by the beneficiary. An exception to this periodicity is provided when the socioeconomic situation proves the impossibility of temporarily assuming the cost of the service until the grant is received, as stated in a social report.

The call reaches the families of the region in a context of territorial dispersion and dependence on private vehicles or taxis to access day centers, a cost that the benefit partially assumes and which can facilitate the continuity of users in daytime care services.
