The Regional Government regulates the 500-euro grants for families evicted by fires
Por FactBox Admin

The Regional Government of Castilla y León has approved Agreement 138/2026, of August 27, which authorizes the Councilor for Deregulation, Family, and Social Aid to deny, reject, and declare the withdrawal of applications for the direct grants of 500 euros intended for families registered in the towns affected by forest fires who were evacuated from their homes during the summer of 2026. The provision is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 168, of August 31, 2026, on pages 191 to 194.
The measure is part of the Community’s extraordinary response to fires that make it one of the most affected regions in Spain. It is based on Agreement 135/2026, of July 30, published in B.O.C. y L. number 147, which scheduled a package of actions for the recovery of the affected areas, including these direct grants. The granting is supported by article 22.2.c) of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, which allows for the granting of direct subsidies for reasons of public, social, economic, or humanitarian interest.
Beneficiaries and requirements
The aid will be granted to the family unit registered in one of the evacuated towns, understanding the family unit as all persons registered at the same address. The reference date for registration will be July 30, 2026. The determination of the affected municipal terms and towns will be carried out through resolutions from the Second Vice Presidency, which is competent in matters of civil protection.
- Submission of the application using the standardized form.
- Proof of identity via DNI or NIE.
- Being up to date with tax obligations (State Tax Administration Agency) and Social Security.
- Collective historical registration certificate of the applicant.
Amount, deadlines, and processing
The amount of the aid will be 500.00 euros per family unit. Given the peculiarities of the subsidy, it will not be necessary for the beneficiaries to present any justification. The necessary data will be collected through consultation with data intermediation platforms, unless the applicant expressly opposes it.
- Application period: from August 4 to October 9, 2026.
- Acceptance: it will be considered effective if the beneficiary does not expressly reject it within ten days from the publication of the granting resolution.
- Notification: the resolution will be published on the Administration’s electronic office, replacing individual notification.
Signature and appeal process
The agreement, adopted at the Governing Council meeting on August 27, 2026, is signed by the President of the Junta, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, and by the Minister of Deregulation, Family and Social Aid, Carlos Pollán Fernández. The head of the Ministry is responsible for resolving the optional appeals for reversal filed against the orders issued under the agreement.
The electronic publication of the resolutions guarantees publicity, transparency, and equal access for all beneficiaries, and proves to be an efficient and agile means given the high number of affected persons. With this regulation, the Junta completes the framework so that thousands of families in the rural areas of Castilla y León affected by the fires of the summer of 2026 can access a direct grant of 500 euros without the need to justify expenses, in a gesture aimed at immediately alleviating the consequences of the emergency.
