The Junta approves the new disciplinary regime for Extremadura motorcycling.

The General Directorate of Sports of the Regional Government of Extremadura has approved the new Disciplinary Regulations of the Extremadura Motorcycling Federation (FEXMOTO), which will govern the sanctioning authority over members, clubs and competitions in the region. The resolution, signed on 28 July by the Director General, Santiago Amaro Barril, has been registered in the General Registry of Sports Entities of Extremadura and published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura number 156, of 13 August 2026 (official reference 2026062123).

The text is processed under the Law 2/1995, of 6 April, on Sport in Extremadura, which entrusts the competent Regional Ministry with the approval of federation regulations, and under Decree 27/1998, of 17 March, which authorises the Director General to approve them by means of a reasoned resolution. The file was initiated on 18 June 2026 with the application submitted by Juan Carlos Sánchez Núñez on behalf of FEXMOTO, following the agreement of the Extraordinary General Assembly of the federation held on 10 January 2026.

A regulation that binds the entire federation structure

The following are subject to the disciplinary authority:

• members of the governing and representation bodies of FEXMOTO;
• clubs and sports entities affiliated with the federation;
• athletes with a valid licence issued or processed through FEXMOTO;
• technicians, officials, judges, timekeepers, race directors and sports commissioners;
• any natural or legal person affiliated with or participating in activities covered by the federation.

Discipline extends to offences committed before, during and after the competition, including training sessions, technical inspections and federation events, and is governed by the principles of legality, specificity, proportionality, presumption of innocence and the right to be heard.

Graded offences and penalties

Offences are classified as very serious, serious and minor. Very serious offences include assaults on judges or race directors, vehicle tampering (seals, engine displacement, fuel), altering the course or timing, sports corruption, falsification of licences, doping, and conduct involving harassment or sexual abuse of minors.

The catalogue of penalties includes warnings, fines, loss of points, disqualification, suspension of licence (from six months to four years for very serious offences), disqualification from holding office for one to four years, prohibition of access to venues, closure of facilities and, in extreme cases, expulsion from FEXMOTO. Very serious offences prescribe after three years; serious offences, after one year; and minor offences, after one month, with identical periods for the prescription of penalties.

Bodies, time limits and procedure

Federative sports justice is structured into two instances: the Single Judge for Competition and Sports Discipline, who rules at first instance, and the Single Appeal Judge, who exhausts the internal avenue. Their decisions may be appealed to the Extremadura Sports Discipline Committee within ten business days, while the internal appeal must be filed within five business days. Incidents arising during an event are resolved under the urgent procedure, with sanctions immediately enforceable.

Entry into force

The regulation, approved by the FEXMOTO General Assembly on 10 January 2026, shall enter into force upon ratification by the sports administration and its official publication. Proceedings already initiated shall be processed in accordance with the previous regulations, unless the new one is more favorable to the alleged offender. The resolution approving it may be appealed by means of an administrative appeal to the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports within one month from its notification.

The regulation provides Extremadura motorcycling with a complete and homogeneous disciplinary framework, with procedural guarantees and proportionate sanctions, and reinforces the safety of events and the protection of minors. The integrity of regional competitions and the proper order of motor sport in Extremadura depend on its application.
