The Generalitat pays new DANA aid for destroyed vehicles

Por FactBox Admin

The Department of Economy, Finance and Public Administration of the Generalitat Valenciana has approved two new resolutions for the partial granting of the extension of direct aid to repair the destruction of vehicles damaged during the storm that began on October 29, 2024. Both resolutions, signed on August 13, 2026, by the undersecretary Alida C. Mas Taberner, are published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) on September 3, 2026, with references DOGV-C-2026-27840 and DOGV-C-2026-27921.

The aid is framed within Decree 126/2025, of September 5, of the Consell, which increases the amounts granted under decrees 5/2025, of January 14, and 83/2025, of June 3, and enables a new period for submitting applications. The financial reinforcement is provided through a credit extension of 116,188,278.29 euros (file 06.047/25) in chapter IV of program 611A00, which finances the aid line S1939 “Aid for the destruction of vehicles damaged during the wind and rain storm that began on October 29 (dana 2024)”.

Two new partial grants

Partial grant 26 (reference DOGV-C-2026-27840) approves the list of 3 beneficiary persons charged to line S1939, for a total amount of 6,000.00 euros. For its part, partial grant 28 (reference DOGV-C-2026-27921) approves the list of 2 beneficiary persons charged to line S2093, for a total amount of 4,000.00 euros.

  • Partial grant 26: 3 beneficiaries, €6,000, line S1939.
  • Partial grant 28: 2 beneficiaries, €4,000, line S2093.
  • Proposals submitted by the General Secretariat of the Valencian Tax Agency (ATV) on 13.08.2026.

Reinforcement for thousands of affected people

The resolution justifies the increase on the grounds that the magnitude of the losses caused by the flood has been significantly higher than the preliminary estimates of the emergency phase. A high number of total losses has been confirmed affecting both private use vehicles and vehicles intended for professional activities, which are essential for access to employment, the provision of services, and mobility in areas with limited public transport coverage.

The increases are granted to beneficiaries who have already received or will receive the aid for the initial amount, without the need to apply again, unless they expressly waive it. Payment may be made even when the beneficiaries who are natural persons are not up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations, in accordance with the ninth transitional provision of Law 1/2015.

Regulatory framework and deadlines

The Consell adopted urgent measures on November 4, 2024, and the Council of Ministers declared the territory a “zone severely affected by a civil protection emergency” on November 5, 2024. The regulatory bases were approved via Decree 5/2025 and Decree 83/2025, and the increase in amounts and the new deadline were established in Decree 126/2025.

Against the resolutions, which exhaust administrative remedies, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Comunitat Valenciana, or an optional appeal for reversal within one month.

The publication of these new partial grants confirms that the Generalitat continues to pay the extension of aid in installments, in a process affecting thousands of victims who have not yet received payment. The reinforcement of 116.1 million euros seeks to respond to all pending files and those that may be submitted in the coming weeks, approaching the full reparation of the economic consequences of the destruction of vehicles.
