Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of La Garrovilla (Badajoz) has approved the rules and the call for the provision, as a career civil servant, of one position for Local Police Officer, through a mobility shift and by a merit-based competition system. Mayor’s resolution number 2026-0933, dated August 20, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 162, dated August 25, 2026, under announcement 3349/2026.
The position is included in the 2026 public employment offer and falls under the Special Administration scale, Special Services sub-scale. The process is governed by article 55 of Law 7/2017, of August 1, on the Coordination of Local Police of Extremadura, and by articles 33 and following of Decree 64/2022, of June 8, which regulates the selection, provision, and mobility of the local police of the community, as well as the Single Tribunal. The rules are signed by the mayor-president, Ana Isabel Frutos Pinilla.
Requirements and recipients
The call is addressed exclusively to career civil servant personnel of the Local Police bodies or staffs of any of the municipalities of Extremadura, with a category equal to that of the announced position. Applicants must meet, among others, the following requirements:
- To have remained in active service for at least three years in the same category in the city council of origin.
- To have at least three years remaining before moving to secondary activity by own request.
- Not to be in secondary activity or under suspension of duties.
- To hold driving licenses of classes A2 and B.
- To prove the necessary physical and psychological conditions through a medical certificate.
Deadline, applications, and examination fees
Applications shall be submitted in the general electronic registry of the City Council or in the places provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, within a period of twenty business days counting from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the Official State Gazette. The application must be accompanied by the certificate from the secretary of the city council of origin, the documentation accrediting the merits, and the proof of payment of the examination fees, set at 44.63 euros (file 619/2026), which may be paid into the accounts of Banca Pueyo and Caja Almendralejo.
Merit scale
The competition will consist of the evaluation of the alleged and accredited merits, with a maximum score of 10.25 points, distributed as follows:
- Professional experience: up to 4.00 points (0.025 points per month, maximum 160 months).
- Academic training: up to 1.00 point (doctorate, degree, technical degree, or master’s).
- Continuing education: up to 3.00 points (maximum 3,000 teaching hours).
- Teaching: up to 0.50 points (maximum 250 teaching hours).
- Decorations: up to 0.25 points.
- Family and work-life balance grouping: up to 1.50 points.
The tribunal, of equal composition, will also assess psychophysical and health conditions, with a rating of fit or unfit. In the event of a tie, it will be resolved by the highest score in professional experience and, successively, in the remaining sections, with final preference given to the gender with the lowest presence in the Extremadura Local Police workforce when it does not reach 40 percent. The selected person must take office within three business days if it does not involve a change of residence, or within one month if it does.
The call for applications represents a significant opportunity for officers of the Extremaduran local police who wish to access a new destination in the region of Mérida, in a municipality that thus reinforces its public security workforce within the mobility framework provided by regional regulations.
