La Garrovilla approves a public employment offer with two posts.

Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of La Garrovilla has approved its public employment offer for 2026, which includes two civil servant positions. The decision was adopted by Mayor’s Office resolution number 2026-0833, of 7 August 2026, and is published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Badajoz number 153, of 12 August 2026, through Notice 3191/2026.

The offer was signed by the Mayor-President, Ana Isabel Frutos Pinilla, and is made public in compliance with Article 91 of Law 7/1985, of 2 April, regulating the Bases of Local Government, and Article 70.2 of the Consolidated Text of the Law on the Basic Statute of Public Employees, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October. Both provisions require local corporations to give publicity to their employment offers in the official bulletin for general knowledge.

The announced positions

The municipality’s 2026 public employment offer includes two civil servant positions, both classified in group C1:

  • Administrative, belonging to the General Administration scale: 1 position.
  • Local Police Officer, belonging to Special Administration, special services: 1 position.

The approval of the offer is framed within the local government system and the basic state regulations on public employment, which require town councils to approve their offers annually and publish them in the corresponding official bulletin. With this publication, the City Council of La Garrovilla completes the required publicity procedure and opens to general knowledge the positions it plans to fill during 2026.

The two positions correspond to group C1, which implies a high school diploma or equivalent qualification for candidates who take part in the selection processes arising from the offer. The announcement does not yet detail the specific rules or the selection system for each position, which must be the subject of subsequent calls by the municipal corporation.

Appeals and deadlines

The Mayoral resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, may be appealed through two alternative avenues:

  • Optional reconsideration appeal before the Mayor’s Office itself, within one month from the day following the publication of the announcement, in accordance with Articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of the Public Administrations.
  • Administrative contentious appeal before the Administrative Court of Mérida, or, at the interested party’s choice, the one corresponding to their residence if it is located in Extremadura, within two months, in accordance with Article 46 of Law 29/1998, of 13 July, on Administrative Jurisdiction.

If the option is taken to file the administrative appeal for reconsideration, the contentious-administrative appeal may not be lodged until the former is expressly resolved or is deemed dismissed by silence, without prejudice to any other appeal the interested party considers appropriate.

Relevance for the region

The public employment offer of La Garrovilla represents an opportunity to access stable employment in the local administration for residents of the Mérida region, both in administrative positions and in the Local Police force. Publication in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Badajoz guarantees the transparency of the process and opens the door for interested parties who meet the requirements to follow the processing of future calls.
