La Garrovilla approves its 2026 public employment offer with two positions.

The City Council of La Garrovilla has approved the public employment offer for the 2026 fiscal year, which includes two civil servant posts: one administrative officer and one local police officer. The approval was formalized by means of Mayor’s Office Resolution No. 2026-0833, of 7 August 2026, and its notice is published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Badajoz (No. 153) of Wednesday, 12 August 2026, as Announcement 3191/2026.

The offer is approved in compliance with Article 91 of Law 7/1985, of 2 April, regulating the Bases of Local Government, and Article 70.2 of the Consolidated Text of the Law on the Basic Statute of Public Employees, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October. These provisions require local authorities to publish annually the list of new-entry posts they plan to fill, as a prior step to calling the corresponding selection processes.

Two civil servant posts, both in group C1

The offer approved by the City Council includes two civil servant posts, both classified in qualification group C1:

• Administrative officer, assigned to the General Administration scale: one post.
• Local police officer, assigned to the Special Administration scale, special services: one post.

The list was approved by the Mayor-President, Ana Isabel Frutos Pinilla, by means of Resolution 2026-0833, signed on 7 August 2026.

Legal framework and official publication

In accordance with the regulations on local government and public employment, the offer must be made public for general knowledge, as the City Council does with this notice in the official bulletin of the Provincial Council of Badajoz. The Mayor’s Office Resolution exhausts the administrative route, so those who consider themselves affected have the challenge remedies provided for by law.

Appeal remedies

Against the approval resolution, the following may be filed, alternatively:

• Optional appeal for reconsideration before the Mayor’s Office, within one month from the day following publication, pursuant to Articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
• Administrative appeal before the Administrative Court of Mérida — or the one corresponding to the interested party’s domicile if it is located in Extremadura — within two months, according to Article 46 of Law 29/1998, of 13 July, regulating Administrative Jurisdiction.

If the appeal for reconsideration is chosen, the administrative route may not be pursued until it has been expressly resolved or is deemed dismissed by administrative silence.

For a small municipality like La Garrovilla, this offer translates into specific positions the need to strengthen administrative management and the local security service with civil servant staff. Publication in the official bulletin gives the process publicity and legal certainty, and opens the door to the upcoming selection calls, which will specify requirements, deadlines, and tests for applicants.
