The Provincial Council of Palencia announces three psychologist positions by competitive examination.

The Provincial Council of Palencia has approved the rules and the call for the selection process for admission as permanent labor staff of three Senior Psychologists, two through the general access route and one through the disability route, by means of the competitive examination system. The resolution, dated 5 August 2026, signed by the delegated deputy for the Finance and General Administration Area, María José de la Fuente Fombellida, is published in the Official Gazette of Castile and León number 158, of 17 August 2026, with the official reference BOCYL-D-17082026-158-40 and file number DIP/2026/8730.

The positions come from the public employment offers for the years 2023, 2025 and 2026, approved by agreements of the Governing Board of the Provincial Council of 11 December 2023, 27 October 2025 and 8 June 2026. All are classified in subgroup A1 and assigned to the Social Services department, with remuneration according to general legislation and the Provincial Council’s Labor Personnel Agreement.

Vacancies and postings

• 2 positions through the general access route.
• 1 position for persons with a disability equal to or greater than 33%.
• Job position codes from the Job Position List: LA13.12.00.02 (Social Services, Guardo), LA13.12.00.03 and LA13.12.00.04 (Social Services, Aguilar de Campoo).
• If the reserved position remains vacant, it will be added to those offered in the general access route.

Requirements and submission of applications

To participate, the following are required: a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Psychology, a class B driving license and availability of a vehicle for travel. Applications must be submitted exclusively electronically at the Electronic Office of the Provincial Council (sede.diputaciondepalencia.es), identifying file number DIP/2026/8730, within a period of 20 business days from the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette. The participation fee is 30 euros, with exemptions for unemployed persons without benefits (75%), large families (50% or total) and persons with a disability equal to or greater than 33%.

Tests of the selection process

• First test: multiple-choice questionnaire of 50 to 70 questions, with a maximum duration of 60 minutes.
• Second test: theoretical, with four topics from specific subjects chosen at random, up to four hours.
• Third test: practical, consisting of solving scenarios based on the syllabus, up to four hours.

All three tests are compulsory and eliminatory, are scored from 0 to 10 and require a minimum of 5 points. The order of performance will begin with the letter “B”, in accordance with the Resolution of 29 June 2026 of the State Secretariat for Civil Service (BOE No. 161, of 3 July).

Those who obtain at least 5 points in the first exercise without passing will form a job pool valid for three years, intended to cover vacancies and substitutions as temporary labor personnel. The new pool will replace the currently valid one and will be governed by the Basic Statute of Public Employees and the Collective Agreement for Labor Personnel of the Provincial Council.

The call reinforces the stable workforce of the province’s social services in one area, psychological care, with growing demand in rural areas. For applicants, it represents an opportunity for permanent public employment in subgroup A1 with postings in Guardo and Aguilar de Campoo.
