The Provincial Council of Málaga approves the 2/2026 modification of staff and positions
Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Council of Málaga has approved modification number 2/2026 of its list of job positions (RPT) and modification number 2/2026 of its personnel staff, the latter now having a definitive character. Both agreements are published in section 2 — Provincial Council of the Official Gazette of the Province of Málaga on November 3, 2026, through edicts 4230/2026 and 4231/2026, respectively. These are the two instruments that organize the employment structure of the provincial institution: one determines how many positions exist and their legal nature; the other details each position and its remuneration.
The double announcement arrives in the final stretch of the fiscal year and directly affects the provincial corporation’s personnel, both civil servants and contractual staff, as well as the framework in which the next selection processes will be convened. The modification of the staff is published as a definitive approval, meaning the agreement has already passed the public exhibition phase and acquires full effectiveness; that of the RPT is announced as the approval of modification number 2/2026, the instrument with which the Council reorganizes the positions and their remunerations within the approved structure.
Two edicts for the same organizational agreement
The bulletin’s summary lists the two announcements consecutively, within the section dedicated to the Provincial Council and under the locality of Málaga:
- Edict 4230/2026 — Approval of modification number 2/2026 of the list of job positions.
- Edict 4231/2026 — Definitive approval of modification number 2/2026 of the personnel staff.
Added to these, in the same section, is Edict 4268/2026, which modifies the appointment of members of the selection tribunal for General Administration Technician, a personnel move published alongside the previous ones that points to the ongoing selection activity in the provincial institution.
What the staff and the list of positions mean
The personnel staff is the document that determines the number of positions for each body, scale, and category, as well as their status as civil servant or contractual; its definitive modification implies that the workforce structure is fixed in the approved terms. The list of job positions, for its part, goes down to the detail of each position: designation, organic assignment, access requirements, supplements, and remunerations.
The fact that both modifications are published simultaneously and with the same order number —2/2026— indicates that they respond to the same internal reorganization operation, in which the number of positions and the concrete definition of the roles are adjusted in a coordinated manner.
Recent precedents in the provincial sphere
This is not an isolated move in the final month of the provincial bulletin’s activity:
- The Málaga Collection Board published on October 28 modifications number 1/2026 and 2/2026 of its list of job positions (Edicts 4145/2026 and 4147/2026).
- In the area of provincial consortia, the personnel staff for 2027 (Edict 4040/2026) and the modification of the RPT for 2027 (Edict 4059/2026) were announced on October 21; on October 29, the initial approval of another modification of the 2027 RPT was added (Edict 4111/2026).
- The Provincial Council itself closed budget modification number 20 on October 27 (Edict 4180/2026), a usual preliminary step to provide financial funding for structural changes.
- In the same bulletin of November 3, the City Council of Teba also publishes the final approval of the modification of its personnel staff (Edict 4013/2026).
Effects on public employment and upcoming calls for applications
With the staff and the RPT updated, the Provincial Council has the necessary legal basis to organize the calls for positions corresponding to the public employment offer and to determine the remuneration for each destination. Changes in job valuation are usually transferred to the bases of the selection processes and to the filling of positions, so that the agreement published today conditions virtually all of the personnel policy of the coming months in the institution that provides technical and economic assistance to the municipalities of the province.
For personnel in service and for those preparing for competitive examinations in the provincial area, the useful reference is twofold: the number of positions established by the staff list and the specific content of each position in the RPT. Both texts are incorporated into the organizational framework of the Provincial Council with the publication of this bulletin, so that future calls must now adjust to the modified structure.
