Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Council of Cáceres has announced grants totaling 148,000 euros aimed at promoting active aging among clubs, homes, associations, and federations of elderly people, retirees, and pensioners in municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. The regulatory bases and the call for applications are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres (BOP) No. 0202, dated October 21, 2026, Section I - Local Administration, with the official reference BOP-2026-4903, and its summary with the reference BOP-2026-4905. Interested entities have 15 business days from the day following the publication of the summary to submit their application.
The call was approved on October 20, 2026, by resolution of the First Vice-Presidency of Territory, Equality, and Culture of the Provincial Council of Cáceres, acting by delegation of July 5, 2023, as amended by resolution of August 14, 2025 (BOP No. 156, dated August 18, 2025). The publication announcement is signed by the Chief Clerk, José Álvaro Casas Avilés, and the summary by the first vice-president, María Esther Gutiérrez Morán. The summary is registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier 936525.
The framework for the call is based on the economic assistance and provincial cooperation competencies of Article 36 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, together with Law 3/2019, on the guarantee of municipal autonomy of Extremadura, and Article 9 of Law 3/2022, on measures against the demographic and territorial challenge. The grants are charged to budget item 2026.04.2314.48620, from the budget approved by the Plenary on November 13, 2025 (BOP No. 240, dated December 17, 2025).
Direct Grant and Distribution by Order of Arrival
The procedure is one of direct grant through an open call, as provided for in Article 21 of the Provincial Council’s General Grants Ordinance. The institution justifies this route for reasons of public and social interest and the need to expedite the delivery of aid to the associative fabric of the rural environment.
The main figures of the call are as follows:
- Total allocation: 148,000 euros for current expenditure.
- Maximum amount per beneficiary entity: 2,500 euros.
- Maximum number of entities that can be served if all receive the cap: 59.
- Distribution criterion: order of entry of the applications, according to the day, hour, and minute of submission.
- Payment: prepayable nature, without the need to provide a guarantee.
- Maximum period to resolve and notify: 6 months from the day following the publication of the summary.
The grants are compatible with other aid for the same purpose, provided that the total does not exceed the cost of the subsidized activity.
Requirements and Mandatory Electronic Processing
Beneficiaries may be non-profit entities with legal personality and the capacity to act, constituted and registered in the corresponding registry before the publication of the call, without economic or institutional dependence on for-profit entities, and up to date with tax obligations and Social Security.
- Registered office, headquarters, or permanent delegation in a municipality of the province of Cáceres with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants, or in a smaller local entity.
- A single application per entity, via the electronic office https://sede.dip-caceres.es.
- Mandatory documentation: power of attorney, CIF or certification of delegation, certification of registration in the registry, a responsible declaration of being up to date with the AEAT and the General Treasury of the Social Security, and a responsible declaration of third parties.
- Correction of errors: 10 business days; otherwise, the application will be considered withdrawn.
Eligible Activities and Calendar
Annex I of the guidelines details the eligible actions, organized into five objectives: healthy habits for those over 60, prevention of social isolation and intergenerational activities, access to culture and leisure, lifelong learning, and strengthening the senior associative fabric. Activities include maintenance gymnastics, yoga, hiking, memory and cognitive stimulation workshops, digital literacy and fraud prevention workshops, reading clubs, cine-forums, and inter-associative meetings.
Regarding expenses, services, supplies, leases, materials, and the entity’s own personnel are permitted, with the following limits:
- Board, catering, meals, or accommodation: maximum of 15% of the granted amount.
- Transport and travel: maximum of 15% of the granted amount.
- Indirect costs: compensation via a lump sum of up to 10%.
Applications with actions outside the province of Cáceres and one-off activities such as parties, trips, or meals that are not part of an active aging project are excluded. The execution period runs from November 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027, with no possibility of extension, and the justification may be submitted until December 31, 2027.
The call reaches a territory where aging and depopulation condition the social life of the majority of municipalities, and it does so with a procedure resolved on a first-come, first-served basis: entities that submit their application earlier will have priority over a credit limited to 148,000 euros. For senior clubs and homes in rural areas with reduced budgets, this maximum of 2,500 euros per entity can be the difference between maintaining an annual program of workshops and activities or giving it up.
