The Provincial Council of Cáceres opens the competition to direct the Pérez Comendador-Leroux Museum

The Provincial Council of Cáceres has opened the selection process to fill the directorship of the Pérez Comendador-Leroux Consortium Museum, a management position of a temporary labor nature. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres (no. 0160, of August 21, 2026), by resolution of the president of the institution dated August 19, 2026, with official reference CVE: BOP-2026-3959.

The announcement, included in Section I of Local Administration, sets out the rules governing the hiring of a person for the position of museum director, with the Provincial Council handling the administrative processing of the procedure at the proposal of the Consortium itself, of which it is a member.

A management position with full-time dedication

The position is configured as management personnel of a labor nature, reserved for senior management personnel in accordance with article 13.4 of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee and Royal Decree 1382/1985. The selected person will perform functions of direction, coordination, and management of the museum and the services attached to the Consortium, with full and exclusive dedication.

  • Remuneration: 61,478.83 euros per year.
  • Duration: up to two years, extendable for another two.
  • Working day: full and exclusive dedication, subject to Law 53/1984 on incompatibilities.

Requirements and submission of applications

Applicants must meet the requirements on the closing date of the application period and maintain them until the formalization of the contract:

  • Spanish nationality or access to public employment in accordance with the EBEP.
  • Be at least 16 years old and not exceed the compulsory retirement age.
  • University degree or equivalent (homologated if foreign).
  • Functional capacity for the position and a category B driver’s license.
  • Not have been dismissed from service nor be disqualified from public employment or office.

Applications must be submitted within 10 business days from the day following the publication of the announcement in the gazette, exclusively through the form on the website https://empleo.dip-caceres.es/, with an electronic signature and registration in the Electronic Office.

Two selection phases and merit scale

The procedure consists of two phases with a maximum score of 100 points. To access the interview, it will be necessary to obtain at least 40 points in the merit assessment:

  • Phase A (80 points): academic and complementary training (max. 15), languages (max. 5), management project or memorandum (max. 30), and related professional experience (max. 25) and management experience (max. 5).
  • Phase B (20 points): interview with a maximum of the five highest-ranked candidates, assessing knowledge, argumentation capacity, and profile suitability.

The management project shall not exceed 20 pages, double-spaced and single-sided. In the event of a tie, it will be resolved by the highest score in the project, then by professional experience, followed by the interview and, as a last resort, by public draw. The evaluation will be carried out by a technical body with an odd number of members, subject to rules of abstention and recusal.

The call for applications represents a significant opportunity for cultural and museum management professionals in the province, as it concerns a management position within a cultural consortium with an annual remuneration of 61,478.83 euros and a selection model based on merit, capacity, and suitability.
