The Provincial Council announces a vacancy for a special education teacher at the CEE Sant Jordi

The Presidency of the Provincial Council of Tarragona has announced, by resolution of September 4, 2026 (decree 2026-0006098), the selection process to fill a permanent position for a special education educator at the Sant Jordi Special Education Center. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on September 10, 2026 (reference CVE 2026-08419) and will be processed via a competitive examination (concurs oposició) in the open category.
The position, assigned to the Educational Services of the CEE Sant Jordi within the People and Talent Area, is included in the 2023 Public Employment Offer, approved by agreement of the Governing Board on December 12, 2023 (BOPT of December 14, 2023). It corresponds to call 23-114, with a gross annual salary of €34,170.10 according to the current 2026 salary table, and is supplemented by the Recast Text of the General Bases regulating the selection processes of the Provincial Council, published in the BOPT on November 3, 2022.
A permanent position with specific requirements
The position, classification group C1L of the professional categories list of the Provincial Council’s labor personnel Agreement, requires applicants, in addition to general requirements, a series of specific conditions:
- High school diploma or technical degree (or equivalent homologated qualification).
- Certificate of proficiency level in Catalan (C1) or equivalent qualification.
- For non-Spanish nationals not originating from official Spanish-speaking countries, C2 level knowledge of Spanish.
- Certification of not having been convicted of any crime against sexual freedom and indemnity.
Examination fees are set at 35 euros, with exemptions and discounts for people with a disability equal to or greater than 33%, job seekers, and members of large families.
Selection process in two phases
The selection system combines an examination phase (oposició), with a maximum of 60 points, and a merit phase (concurs), with a maximum of 30 points. The examination phase consists of three eliminatory exercises:
- First exercise: development of a general and transversal topic (up to 20 points, minimum 10).
- Second exercise: written practical case study (up to 40 points, minimum 20).
- Third exercise: language knowledge test (Catalan and, if applicable, Spanish), graded as pass/fail.
The merit phase includes an interview on corporate competencies (up to 8 points, non-eliminatory) and the assessment of merits according to the scale in Annex I. The tests will begin approximately during the fourth quarter of 2026.
Deadlines and submission of applications
Applications can be submitted electronically through the e-Office of the Diputació de Tarragona or in person at the registration assistance offices in Tarragona and Tortosa. The deadline is 20 business days starting from the day after the publication of the summary of the call in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC).
The call opens a stable job opportunity for professionals in the educational sector of the province, at a time when the Diputació de Tarragona is executing its 2023 public employment offer.
