Lácara-Los Baldíos convoca ayudas de respiro familiar dotadas con 10.185,85 euros

The Mancomunidad Integral Lácara-Los Baldíos has approved the regulatory bases and the call for financial aid from the Family Respite Program for habitual non-professional caregivers, endowed with 10,185.85 euros. The resolution of the organization’s Presidency, dated October 2, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 191, of October 6, 2026, in the Local Administration section (announcement 3913/2026). The deadline for submitting applications ends on December 15, 2026.

The call is issued under the Agreement of March 17, 2026, of the Governing Council of the Junta de Extremadura, which approves the Municipal Economic Collaboration Program for the family respite service for habitual non-professional caregivers in local entities of Extremadura 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura on March 30, 2026, via the Councilor’s resolution of March 24, 2026. That agreement assigns the mancomunidad an endowment of 10,185.85 euros charged to the general budgets of the Autonomous Community for the 2026 fiscal year.

The legal framework is completed by Article 46 of Law 3/2019, of January 22, on the Guarantee of Municipal Autonomy of Extremadura, which establishes municipal economic collaboration programs as an additional financing instrument in shared competency areas such as social services, and by Law 14/2015, of April 9, on Social Services of Extremadura. Supplementary application is given to Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure.

Seven municipalities and deadline until December 15

The aid is directed toward the residents of the municipalities comprising the mancomunidad, with the exception of Alburquerque:

  • Carmonita
  • Cordobilla de Lácara
  • La Nava de Santiago
  • La Roca de la Sierra
  • Puebla de Obando
  • Villar del Rey
  • La Codosera

The period begins the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz and concludes on December 15, 2026, although it may close earlier if the available credit is exhausted, resulting in the inadmissibility of subsequent applications. The call enters into force the day after its publication.

Amounts and financed services

Services provided between January 1 and December 15, 2026, will be eligible for financing, within these limits:

  • Home accompaniment and assistance: maximum of 65 hours per person attended per year, at the cost of one caregiver according to the collective agreement.
  • Circumstantial accompaniment and specific leisure activities during daytime, nighttime, weekends, and holiday periods: maximum duration of 36 hours per year.
  • Assistance in a non-socio-sanitary external establishment: minimum duration of 2 days, maximum amount of 72.00 euros per day, and maximum cost of 504.00 euros per person.
  • Stays in a socio-sanitary external establishment: maximum of 10 days per year per person attended, with 70.00 euros daily for the residential or accommodation service and 40.00 euros daily for the day or night service.

The cost of food is not included in the respite service. Professional care staff must provide accreditation as a Nursing Assistant Technician, Technician in Care for People in Situations of Dependency, Higher Technician in Social Integration, or equivalent professional certificates and exceptional authorizations.

Requirements and processing

Beneficiaries may be non-professional habitual caregivers who continuously attend to people in situations of dependency (grade I, II, or III) with a recognized disability degree equal to or greater than 33%, or people with a disability equal to or greater than 75% even if there is no recognized dependency, provided they do not have a public place in residential care or an economic benefit linked to that service. Both the caregiver and the person attended must be registered in one of the municipalities of the association, except for Alburquerque.

The Basic Care Social Services of each locality issue the proposal report. The grant is direct through an open call and is resolved in order of entry in the registry, with the resolution notified individually by the President within two months. The deadline for the justification of expenses is December 31, 2026. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month before the President of the association, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Cáceres within two months. The guidelines provide for the non-publication of the grants awarded, as they affect people in situations of vulnerability.

The call for applications is addressed to non-professional caregivers in seven municipalities in the west of the province of Badajoz, a group that continuously provides care for dependent persons without remuneration or relief. The allocation of 10,185.85 euros allows for the financing of home accompaniment hours, leisure activities, and temporary stays in accredited centers, with the stated objective of facilitating respite for the caregiver and covering specific needs for the reconciliation of personal, family, and work life.
