Arcom authorizes the A69 Info Trafic radio station on the A69 motorway

The Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication (Arcom) has authorized SAS Atosca to operate a terrestrial frequency modulation radio service named A69 Info Trafic on the A69 motorway. This decision, No. 2026-441 of September 9, 2026, is published in the Official Journal of the French Republic No. 0213 of September 12, 2026, under NOR RCAC2624178S.

A service dedicated to motorway users

The A69 Info Trafic service is a road information service intended for users of the A69 motorway, which connects Toulouse to Castres. The authorization is granted for a period of five years starting from October 14, 2026. SAS Atosca may use the frequencies mentioned in the appendix, in accordance with the agreement and the appendices of the decision.

Arcom may declare the authorization void if effective operation has not begun three months after the effective date.

Six transmitters along the route

The service is broadcast on the frequency 107.8 MHz via six transmitters distributed along the route, each with a maximum effective radiated power of 200 W:

• A69 Verfeil (PR 9, Verfeil, 31), altitude 151 m, antenna 23 m;
• A69 Montcabrier (PR 17, Montcabrier, 46), altitude 165 m, antenna 20 m;
• A69 Cambon-lès-Lavaur (PR 25, Cambon-lès-Lavaur, 81), altitude 176 m, antenna 28 m;
• A69 Algans (impasse du Cap Blanc, PR 32, Algans, 81), altitude 303 m, antenna 18 m;
• A69 Saint-Germain-des-Prés (La Vignasse, PR 45, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, 81), altitude 242 m, antenna 18 m;
• A69 Castres (lieudit Peyrous, Castres, 81), altitude 219 m, antenna 29 m.

Each site is subject to a limitation of radiation in the horizontal plane, as specified in the appendix, and remains subject to the successful completion of international coordination procedures.

Technical and monitoring obligations

The holder must provide Arcom, within two months after commissioning, the actual technical description of the installation (type and nominal power of the transmitter, antenna system), as well as, as soon as it is available, the measurement of the effective frequency deviation. This information remains available at any time upon the express request of Arcom.

In the event of unfamiliarity with the technical conditions, SAS Atosca must have a compliance verification of its installation carried out by an approved body. Furthermore, the holder undertakes to comply with Decision No. 87-23 of March 6, 1987, of the National Commission for Communication and Liberties, as amended by Decision No. 90-829 of December 7, 1990, of the Higher Council of Audiovisual, defining the technical conditions for the use of frequencies for frequency modulation sound broadcasting. Any use of a subcarrier must be authorized by Arcom.

Enhanced road information for motorists

With this new service, users of the A69 motorway will have continuous and localized road information, broadcast on a single frequency along the route. The effective commissioning, expected in the months following the entry into force of the authorization, will make it possible to alert drivers to traffic conditions, roadworks, and incidents on this axis connecting Toulouse to Castres.
