Por FactBox Admin

The Ministry of Health, Families, Autonomy and People with Disabilities has added adalimumab HUMIRA to the list of pharmaceutical specialties reimbursable to social security beneficiaries. This decision is detailed in the decree of September 8, 2026 (NOR SFHS2621251A), published in the Official Journal of the French Republic No. 0215 on September 15, 2026. The insured party’s co-payment rate is set at 35%.
Two presentations concerned
The decree covers two presentations of the same active ingredient, marketed by ABACUS MEDICINE laboratories:
- HUMIRA 40 mg (adalimumab), solution for injection, 0.4 ml in pre-filled syringe (glass) + alcohol swabs with needle(s) (B/2), CIP code 34009 495 019 8 4;
- HUMIRA 80 mg (adalimumab), solution for injection, 0.8 ml in pre-filled pen + 2 alcohol swabs (B/1), CIP code 34009 495 020 2 8.
The text modifies the list provided in the first paragraph of Article L. 162-17 of the Social Security Code. It takes effect as of the fourth day following its publication in the Official Journal.
A wide scope of indications
The only therapeutic indications granting eligibility for health insurance coverage cover numerous chronic inflammatory pathologies, in both adults and children:
- rheumatoid arthritis (in combination with methotrexate);
- axial spondyloarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis;
- psoriatic arthritis;
- polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis and enthesitis-related arthritis;
- severe chronic plaque psoriasis;
- hidradenitis suppurativa (Verneuil’s disease);
- Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis;
- non-infectious uveitis.
Price and co-payment rate
In application of the agreements between the Economic Committee for Health Products and the company ABACUS MEDICINE, the prices for the two specialties are set at €314.60 as the factory price excluding tax (PFHT) and €361.35 as the public price including all taxes (PPTTC), according to the notice published in the same issue of the Official Journal (NOR SFHS2621253V).
Furthermore, by decisions of the Director General of the National Union of Health Insurance Funds dated July 20, 2026, and August 27, 2026, the insured party’s co-payment rate applicable to these two presentations is set at 35% (notice NOR SFHS2621254V).
Scope of the measure
This listing expands access to a major biologic in the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases by regulating its price and its coverage by health insurance. It is accompanied by a parallel listing on the list of specialties approved for use by communities and various public services (decree NOR SFHS2621252A), facilitating their dispensing in hospital settings.
