Guijo de Granadilla approves extraordinary aid for 2026 contingencies

The Guijo de Granadilla City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres (No. 0160, of August 21, 2026) the final regulatory bases for the call for extraordinary social support grants for 2026 contingencies. The text, signed by the mayor-president Marco Antonio García García on August 17, is elevated to final status as no claims were filed during the public exhibition period of the initial plenary agreement, adopted on June 26, 2026.

The call is part of the Municipal Economic Collaboration Program of the Regional Government of Extremadura, regulated by Decree 110/2021, of September 22, and approved for 2026 by the Agreement of March 17, 2026, of the Governing Council. These are non-periodic financial benefits, of a targeted and welfare nature, which are not governed by general subsidy regulations.

What the grants cover

The grants are awarded via a single payment to address specific and unusual expenses derived from extraordinary contingencies. Eligible concepts include:

• Housing costs (rent or mortgage of the primary residence): up to 2,600 euros.
• Installations, basic equipment, and essential supplies: up to 1,600 €.
• Primary needs (food, hygiene, clothing): from 700 € to 1,800 € depending on the size of the family unit.
• Health or socio-health assistance not covered by the public system: up to 1,500 €.
• Critical deficiencies of an exceptional nature: up to 2,010 €.
• Previous debt for the aforementioned concepts, with a maximum seniority of 12 months.

The maximum amount for all concepts is set at 2,950 € per family unit.

Requirements and income limits

Eligible beneficiaries are adults registered and residing in the municipality for at least six months, who belong to a family unit without sufficient income or earnings. Income is considered sufficient when it exceeds 130% of the monthly IPREM (700 €), increased by 8% for each additional member, with reinforced limits for families with disabilities or dependency.

A maximum of one grant per year per family unit is awarded, and a new grant for the same concept cannot be granted until two years have passed since the previous one. The grants are compatible with other benefits provided that the total does not exceed the final cost.

How and when to apply

Applications are submitted to the Basic Social Care Service of the City Council, at the General Registry, via the electronic office, or through the ORVE/SARA network. The application period opens the day after the ordinance comes into force and ends on December 15, 2026, or earlier if the budget credit is exhausted.

The resolution must be notified within a maximum period of one month from the submission of the application, and the grant is awarded based on strict chronological priority until the available funds are exhausted. The budget allocation for the 2026 call amounts to €2,448.17.

The publication of these guidelines consolidates a key economic resource for families in Guijo de Granadilla in situations of vulnerability, allowing them to cover basic housing, food, or health expenses in the face of unforeseen contingencies. As it is a direct grant call with agile processing, it constitutes an immediate protection network against social exclusion processes in the municipality.
