Getafe opens 425,000 euro grants for elevators and energy rehabilitation

The Getafe City Council has opened the call for grants for accessibility and energy rehabilitation works in residential buildings within the municipality during the year 2026, with a budget of 425,000 euros. The summary of the call is published in the BOCM no. 225, dated September 21, 2026, section III (Local Administration), with the official reference BOCM-20260921-58 and identification number BDNS 928825. The call is governed by the General Ordinance for the Granting of Subsidies of the Getafe City Council and is processed under articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17.

Two lines of action and budget distribution

The call promotes and subsidizes actions in two main lines:

• Line 1: installation of elevators in collective residential buildings with three or more floors that do not have such an installation.
• Line 2: energy rehabilitation of the building envelope (facades and/or roofs), which may include electrical generation installations for self-consumption on collective roofs of residential buildings.

The maximum amount of the budget allocation amounts to 425,000 euros, charged to the budget application 15221 78000. The distribution between lines is as follows:

• Line of action 1 (installation of elevators): 225,000 euros.
• Line of action 2 (energy rehabilitation of the envelope): 200,000 euros.

Objective: architectural barriers and energy demand

The objective of the call is the partial financing, by the Getafe City Council, of the costs of installing elevators in collective residential buildings and accessibility improvement works for entrances, in order to contribute to the removal of architectural barriers.

In parallel, the grants finance actions aimed at energy rehabilitation at the building scale by improving the thermal behavior of the envelope, with the possible inclusion of electrical generation installations for self-consumption on collective roofs. The stated objectives are to reduce the energy demand of the building as a whole, decrease the energy bills of the users, and improve the comfort and health conditions of the properties within the municipal district, placing special effort on the priority areas identified by the Getafe Rehabilitation Strategy.

Beneficiaries, application, and deadline

Homeowners’ associations or groups of homeowners’ associations of residential buildings located in the municipality of Getafe that meet the general and specific requirements established in the call for applications may apply for the grants.

Applications, together with the required documentation, shall be submitted through the Electronic Registry of the Getafe City Council (http://sede.getafe.es), requiring a valid electronic identification method, in accordance with article 14.2 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

The deadline for submitting applications will be 20 business days, counted from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the BOCM.

The call reaches a municipality with an aging residential stock and homeowners’ associations facing high-cost accessibility and energy efficiency works. The combination of both lines allows buildings without elevators and those with high energy bills to access partial municipal financing, subject to the limits of the allocations set for each line and an application period of barely one calendar month.
