Folgoso do Courel: 500 euros por nacemento ou adopción durante 2026

The City Council of Folgoso do Courel will subsidize up to 500 euros for each birth or adoption registered in the municipality throughout 2026. The call, signed by the mayor-president Dolores Castro Ochoa on October 13, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 240, corresponding to Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with the reference R. 2804 and the National Grants Database identifier BDNS 934899.

The guidelines, processed under a non-competitive concurrence regime pursuant to article 19.2 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on grants in Galicia, have a declared double objective: to establish complementary support measures for family units in the municipality and to design mechanisms that help stabilize the population, “thus avoiding the depopulation that the municipality has been suffering.” The call is part of a package of five municipal aid lines published in the same issue of the gazette, along with those destined for parish festivals (R. 2800, BDNS 934853), student transport (R. 2801, BDNS 934865), Primary and Secondary school materials (R. 2802, BDNS 934875), and Early Childhood textbooks (R. 2803, BDNS 934883), all with the same submission deadline.

Six months of prior residence and three years of registration

Parents of children born or adopted during 2026 in Folgoso do Courel who meet a series of conditions may apply for the aid:

  • Habitually reside in the municipality at least six months prior to the date of birth or adoption, a requirement understood to be met by effective registration (empadronamiento).
  • Have the boy or girl registered in the municipal census of inhabitants.
  • Commit to remaining registered in the municipality, along with the children, for a period of three years from the birth or adoption.
  • That the registration represents effective residence, a circumstance that the council may verify at any time.
  • Be up to date with tax obligations to the state, regional, and local Treasuries, with Social Security and with the council itself, and have no municipal grant pending justification.
  • Not incur any of the prohibitions to be a beneficiary set out in article 10 of Law 9/2007 and in article 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants.

Invoices for childcare items and expandable credit

Expenses derived from the acquisition of childcare items and products intended for the newborn or adopted boy or girl are considered eligible for subsidies. The maximum amount is 500 euros per child, with a maximum subsidizable amount of 500.00 euros allocated in budget application 231.48 of the 2026 municipal budget. This amount may be increased based on the applications submitted and the availability of credit, through a resolution of the Mayor’s Office published in the same media, without this opening a new application period.

The required documentation includes the census certificate (certificado de padrón) of the parent and the children with the registration date, a photocopy of the DNI of all adult members, the family book (libro de familia), the separation or divorce decree or regulatory agreement where applicable, responsible declarations regarding other aid received, regarding the commitment to three-year census registration, and regarding the return of the aid if the requirements are not met, certified bank details, and expense invoices. The aid is compatible with any other that pursues the same purposes.

Deadline until November 23 and resolution within one month

Applications shall be submitted using the standardized form, available at the municipal electronic office, at the General Registry of the Concello de Folgoso do Courel until November 23, 2026. If the birth or adoption occurs in November or December, the deadline is extended until January 31, 2027.

The resolution corresponds to the Mayor’s Office, following reports from social services and the municipal Intervention office, and must be issued within a period of one month from the submission of the application in the registry. Once this period has elapsed without an express resolution, the aid is understood to be denied. Payment will be made by bank transfer once the documentation has been justified.

The call for applications will be published in the Official Provincial Gazette, on the council’s electronic office, and in the National Grants Database, and will be approved by decree of the Mayor’s Office.

For a mountain municipality in demographic decline, the birth line is added to the school and transport aid already called for and introduces a commitment of three years of permanence in the census, a mechanism that links the collection of the aid to the continuity of effective residence in the municipality.
