Finestrat opens the Childhood Council regulations for public consultation
Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of the Finestrat City Council provisionally approved the Organization and Operation Regulations of the Local Council for Children and Adolescents of Finestrat in its ordinary session on September 30, 2026. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante number 196, dated October 15, 2026, within section III, Local Administration, under official reference 7751/2026. The publication opens a 30-business-day public information period for interested parties to examine the text and submit allegations.
The edict is signed by the mayor, Natividad Algado Sellés, and is issued using the powers that local government legislation grants to city councils. The announcement is inserted both in the provincial gazette and on the City Hall notice board, such that the calculation of the period begins the day following this double publication.
Thirty business days to appeal
The public information period extends for 30 business days starting from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province and on the notice board of the Finestrat City Council. During this time, interested persons may:
- Examine the procedure at the City Council Secretariat.
- Formulate any allegations and suggestions they deem pertinent.
- Request that the Corporation resolve the objections raised.
Any allegations submitted must be resolved by the municipal Plenary itself before the regulation acquires a definitive character.
Legal basis and effects of the agreement
The approval is supported by article 4.1.a) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, on the Bases of Local Government, and the public exhibition process is based on articles 49.b) and 70.2 of the same law, as well as article 56 of the Revised Text of Local Government. The edict also invokes article 49.c) to establish the effect of administrative silence.
If no allegations are submitted within the specified period, the provisionally approved agreement will be understood as definitively adopted, without the need for a new pronouncement by the Plenary. Otherwise, the Corporation must resolve the suggestions received and, if applicable, introduce the appropriate modifications to the regulatory text.
A body for children’s participation
The regulation governs the organization and operation of the Local Council for Children and Adolescents of Finestrat, a citizen participation body called upon to channel the voice of minors in municipal policies. The regulation establishes its composition, its functions, and its internal operating rules, aspects that are now subject to neighborhood scrutiny.
The provisional approval occurs just two weeks after the same Plenary, in the session of September 30, gave the green light to the revision of the Municipal Action Plan against the Risk of Forest Fires, which was also subject to public consultation for 30 business days.
The procedure is of direct interest to neighborhood associations, children’s organizations, and residents who wish to influence the design of the body before it comes into force. The 30-business-day period makes this announcement the final formal opportunity for amendment before the regulation is finalized.
