Ferrol subsidizes parish festivals with €24,000 for 2026

The Ferrol City Council activates a call for subsidies to support the development of patron saint festivals in urban neighborhoods and parishes of the municipality during the 2026 fiscal year. The regulations were published on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in the Official Bulletin of the Province of A Coruña, number 156, under announcement number 2026/5385, and were signed on August 13 by the special delegated councilor for Youth, Festivals, New Technologies and Ferrol Brand, Arán López Martínez.
The call is aimed at neighborhood associations, festival associations and other legally constituted non-profit entities, provided they have their registered office within the municipal area of Ferrol. The granting regime is that of non-competitive concurrence, since comparison and ranking of applications is not necessary, in accordance with article 19.2 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on Subsidies of Galicia.
Credit and amount of aid
The total credit available for this call is 24,000 euros, financed by budget item 05103-3381-48000 “Aid for patron saint festivals in neighborhoods” of the municipal budgets of the Ferrol City Council for 2026. The individual amount of the subsidy may not, in any case, exceed 5,000 euros per entity, and will be distributed in equal parts among all admitted applications that meet the requirements. In the event that the result exceeds the amount requested by any entity, the subsidy will be limited to the amount requested and the surplus credit will be redistributed among the others.
Eligible expenses and deadlines
Eligible expenses are those directly linked to contracting live music performances for patron saint festivals:
- Fees for artists or music groups
- Technical sound and lighting services
- Stage infrastructure linked to the performances
The expense execution period runs from January 1 to December 31, 2026. Justification must be submitted through the City Council’s electronic headquarters within three months from the end of the execution of the activities, with January 31, 2027 being the maximum date for justifying activities carried out in the month of December.
Application deadline and requirements
Applications must be submitted electronically through the electronic registry of the City Council’s electronic headquarters, within 10 business days counted from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the BOP. Among the required documentation are the entity’s tax identification code, certificates of no outstanding tax obligations (or a responsible declaration for subsidies under 3,000 euros), a detailed program of activities, and the statement of expenses and income attributed to the activity.
In addition, beneficiary entities must:
- Use the Galician language in advertising, programmes and activities
- Use non-sexist and inclusive language
- Include the collaboration of the City Council in all dissemination information
- Do not modify the programme without express authorisation from the City Council
The granting of subsidies shall be approved by resolution of the competent delegated councillor, with a maximum notification period of six months from the end of the deadline for submitting applications. Failure to issue a resolution within this period shall have a dismissive effect.
