Treasury publishes the budget execution for the first quarter of 2026

The Department of Finance and Public Administration has published the execution status of the Autonomous Community’s budget, its modifications, and the treasury situation and movements from budgetary and extra-budgetary operations corresponding to the first quarter of 2026. The resolution, signed by the counselor Miguel Corgos López-Prado on October 9, 2026, appears in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 202, of October 23, 2026, section III, p. 53458, with the official reference CVE-DOG: uc2xu2b7-pyn9-cx12-oby2-d4dzsfyc45f6. The data refers to the situation as of March 31, 2026, and is included as an annex to the resolution.

The publication responds to the mandate of article 117 of the recast text of the Law on the financial and budgetary regime of Galicia, approved by Legislative Decree 1/1999, of October 7, which requires periodic publicity of the Community’s budgetary execution. The annex includes the status of expenditure credits by sections and chapters, the execution status of expenditures and revenues, the status of revenue forecasts, the status and evolution of the treasury, and the consolidated statements of the general administration, autonomous bodies, public agencies, and instrumental consultation or advisory entities.

Current credits of 17.085 billion after 1.118 billion in modifications

The general administration started with an initial budget of 15,967,393,951.00 euros. The credit modifications approved up to March 31 added 1,118,059,563.98 euros, such that the current credits amount to 17,085,453,514.98 euros and the executable credit stands at 17,020,641,011.26 euros, with an available balance of 3,236,018,903.07 euros.

The sections with the highest volume of current credit are:

• Health: 5,445,328,642.14 euros, with 18,840,339.14 euros in modifications.
• Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training: 3,111,556,083.43 euros.
• Public Debt of the Autonomous Community: 2,406,767,258.19 euros, after a modification of 548,181,818.19 euros.
• Social Policy and Equality: 1,478,451,713.81 euros, with 87,765,360.81 euros in modifications.
• Rural Environment: 754,102,196.64 euros.

By chapters, current transfers concentrate 7,696,951,593.66 euros of current credit and personnel expenses 2,723,551,707.17 euros. The contingency fund increased from 5,439,370.00 to 13,399,370.00 euros.

9.085 billion in recognized obligations and 3.326 billion paid

The execution status records authorizations for 13,541,215,961.64 euros and dispositions for 12,860,470,561.47 euros. Recognized obligations reach 9,085,686,156.45 euros, equivalent to 53.4% of the executable credit, while the ordered and performed payments coincide at 3,326,311,075.88 euros.

• Health: 3,882,676,192.20 euros in recognized obligations.
• Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training: 1,965,133,951.46 euros.
• Public Debt: 1,163,560,776.76 euros.
• Social Policy and Equality: 756,367,230.31 euros.
• Presidency, Justice and Sports: 314,182,367.64 euros.

Among the sections with the largest unexecuted margin are Housing and Infrastructure Planning, with an available balance of 534,892,991.73 euros out of 600,232,756.41, and Economy and Industry, with 332,011,242.67 euros.

Revenue: 14,753 million recognized and 3,868 collected

The final revenue forecasts for the general administration stand at 15,994,267,892.47 euros, following positive modifications of 26,873,941.47 euros. Net recognized rights reach 14,753,409,738.98 euros, 92.2% of the forecast, and the net collection stands at 3,868,472,448.49 euros, with a balance of pending recognized rights of 35,160,939.79 euros.

By chapter, indirect taxes stand out, with 1,083,165,888.58 euros in recognized rights and 1,072,968,200.28 euros in net collection, and direct taxes, with 929,552,134.22 and 912,229,314.35 euros respectively. Participation in the financing system contributes 3,421,382,351.00 euros in recognized rights and financial liabilities 1,092,959,298.21 euros.

Treasury drops to 197.8 million in final holdings

The state and evolution of the treasury, expressed in thousands of euros, starts from holdings of 464,905.59 at the beginning of the fiscal year. Revenue for the period totals 4,678,351.47 —of which 3,868,472.45 correspond to the current budget and 790,992.67 to extra-budgetary operations— and payments reach 4,945,430.83, including 1,052,575.24 in residuals. Final holdings as of March 31 stand at 197,826.24 thousand euros.

In the consolidated scope, which includes the general administration, autonomous bodies, public agencies, and instrumental entities, the current credit is 17,625,796,958.06 euros, with committed expenses of 11,753,470,673.89 euros and recognized obligations of 3,988,098,070.94 euros. Consolidated net recognized rights are 3,920,014,800.49 euros and the net collection is 3,876,190,302.19 euros.

This data serves as a reference for political and economic debate: it establishes in official figures the degree of execution of the regional budget at the close of the first quarter, the weight of credit modifications, and the liquidity position of the Xunta, elements that condition the expenditure programming for the remainder of the fiscal year.
