Por FactBox Admin

The General Secretariat of the Regional Ministry of Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation has approved the 2026 call for Programs I, II, and III of grants to promote the employment of people with disabilities in the protected labor market of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The resolution, signed on July 30, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura number 169, dated September 1, 2026, with the official reference 2026062051, along with its extract (2026062224).

The call mobilizes a total of 18,000,000 euros, distributed over two annual installments: 9,570,000 euros for 2026 and 8,430,000 euros for 2027. The grants are awarded through a direct grant regime via an open call, as they are subsidies intended to promote the creation and stability of employment for unemployed people with special insertion difficulties.

Three programs for the protected labor market

The call organizes the aid into three lines, all of which are aimed at special employment centers (CEE) registered in the Registry of Special Employment Centers of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura:

  • Program I, aid for employment-generating projects, with a total of 1,250,000 euros (20,000 in 2026 and 1,230,000 in 2027).
  • Program II, aid for the maintenance of jobs for people with disabilities in CEEs, the line with the highest allocation, with 16,550,000 euros (9,450,000 in 2026 and 7,100,000 in 2027).
  • Program III, aid for the Support Units of CEEs, with 200,000 euros (100,000 per year).

The regulatory bases for these grants are contained in the Order of August 10, 2023 (DOE no. 160, of August 21, 2023). The call was authorized by agreement of the Governing Council on July 28, 2026, and is registered in the National Grants Database with identifiers 926691, 926692, and 926694.

Deadlines and processing

The validity period of the call to submit applications begins the day after its publication in the DOE and ends on February 28, 2027. Specific deadlines vary by program:

  • Program I: one month from the start of permanent hiring or the conversion of temporary contracts into permanent ones.
  • Program II: two months from the end of each calendar month for which the grant is requested, including the December bonus payment.
  • Program III: throughout the entire validity period of the call.

Additionally, extraordinary one-month deadlines are enabled for contracts initiated between July 4, 2026, and the date of publication, as well as for applications that could not be submitted in the previous call due to the expiration of its validity. Processing is carried out exclusively electronically through the General Electronic Access Point (www.juntaex.es) and the electronic office, with a mandatory electronic signature.

Toward new regulatory bases

The resolution indicates that the Extremeño Public Employment Service (SEXPE) is already working on new regulatory bases to improve those of 2023 and streamline processing. For this reason, the validity of this call has been set until February 28, 2027, so that the 2027 salary costs and hirings after December 31, 2026, will be covered by the new regulations. The document is signed by Nicolás Macías Manzanedo, secretary general of SEXPE, by virtue of the delegation of powers approved by the resolution of May 29, 2026 (DOE no. 108, of June 8).

The call represents significant economic support for the region’s special employment centers and for the thousands of workers with disabilities who depend on them, guaranteeing the continuity of their jobs and the support of the professional units that facilitate their personal, social, and professional adjustment.
